At least he's driving today. In the 2 previous games he hasn't been very aggressive.

It was better, but then he took another long jumper at the very end that wasn't even close.

Tevin Mack (although he's shooting like shit right now) and a healthy Andrew Jones makes this roster much more sustainable wrt shooting.  Right now Roach is doing way too much in terms of shooting off the dribble.

because there is no offensive plan.

This is ultimately why I believe Shaka will get another year barring a catastrophe on par with year 2.

Sorry, I thought you were being one of us “typical Texas fans” who shit on the present in hopes of the future.  I mean DO is the top performer so far.

DO does have the points but at 6'9 he should in this game with all the putbacks he should get from our guards.  Throwing the ball straight out of bounds was stupid though. I just want to see someone on the floor that can make a shot from more than 2 inches away from the rim.

Odds on Roach scoring 4 more pts to reach 1000?

how does one fucking 6' 7" guy beat us on the boards like that.  we are terrible.

I don't think Shaka and crew do a very good job of evaluating guard play.  For the system he wants to run the PGs/Gs need to be multifaceted, more in the Long/Ramey mold rather than the Jacob Young/Febres or Coleman mold. Young and Febrese are basically standstill shooters and Coleman will never be nothing more than a below average shooter while he's year.  Jones is obviously a take on every day that ends in Y, but you seriously can't take guards who aren't adequately skilled in every aspect of offensive basketball unless you have a roster littered with those who are.  Especially not in this read and react style he loves so much.  Think of all the teams who run this open floor, 4 man out offense. KU ran it last year (despite Self preference of a high low/2 post offense),  Michigan runs it,  Villanova, Gonzaga etc. Their guards don't necessarily have to be elite athletes,  but they damn sure have to be skilled in every aspect of offensive basketball.

We had 1 AJ1.

OK one guy.  my only hope is Ramey and Long surprise.

Hayes already looks more comfortable on the block than Sims does.

Somebody tell Jase to just sit in that corner the rest of the season

I think Ramey and Long can actually shoot,  but having the rest of the roster sans shooters (Jones notwithstanding)  makes for poor spacing and out of rhythm shots. All this stuff works in conjunction. It's like having a collection of dancers dancing to different  types of music.

What is going on? Did we enter the matrix?

My only point is we should wait until after Vegas to make broad seasonal statements.

Nice couple of possessions.

Found their shot now. The question is can they keep it going in future games. I've seen this movie before. Gotta do it for more than once every 5 or 6 games.

This generally team plays much better when the pace is up and down and they don’t have time to think. The tough thing is controlling the pace

The cat and mouse game with Long and the corner man in the zone was masterful.

I'd like to see Hepa take that 3-pointer at the top of the arc. Now is the time to work out the kinks.

good stretch there.  if they can get to 36 percent from 3 and shoot 70% FT we can we win some games.

Okay Lance, tell us your F'ing story, geez

What the helldid I just listen to between these moron commentators? Start the game 20 seconds before alley opp and listen til commercial break.  Wtf?

Hope to see the Ramey-to-Hayes connection a lot more.

Like listening to a woman drivel on about some nonsense, I was just to tuning it out

We’re conditioned.

I don't mind Galindo on the more scripted shows, but I am not a fan of him as a commentator during basketball and baseball.

Roach's stroke has improved as the game has gone on.

Kansas is up in a 67-64 dog fight with ULL, 7 minutes to go

I want to see what this team looks like against better competition but I think this is probably a good defensive team. This team scored easily against Clemson.

His shot form looked so much better on those makes, too.

Well, good news tonight is we may have shot ourselves out of a funk just in time with North Carolina up next. About to find out what we've got this year.

I was wondering what we would do defensively against a team like this. I worried that our bigs would have issues hedging the 3 and switching on the perimeter.

But Sims and Hayes are athletic freaks. They can guard on the perimeter.

Hepa is more athletic than I was expecting too.
