There are 5 of us brothers. The second oldest played football for Bryant at Bama. The 3rd oldest ran track(distance) at JSU. I temporarily played tennis at JSU, before being cut after breaking my wrist playing pickup basketball. The brother that was just older than me, he could have played football in college but he was the only one of us that did not want to go to college. My oldest brother came the closest to being a pro athlete. He was a sponsored cyclist, trained with some of the biggest names in cycling. He never made enough to make a living though.

Dad played football at UH, mom was cheerleader there and how they met.

Great grandad in CFB HoF.  He also coached at a couple major programs, all 3 major sports. Not that uncommon way back when. .

4 undefeated seasons coaching CFB. Coached NFL a little also. Manager of MLB team as well.

I played college lacrosse many moons ago

My brother-in-law played D2 basketball and now competes in the Ironman competitions

My wifes cousins all did collegiate and professional rodeo (those dudes are crazy)

My father was drafted as a SP in the later rounds years ago

I am fairly sure there are more, but I don’t remember off the top of my head

I played JUCO basketball and D3 football.

Father played D3 baseball and basketball.

One sister played JUCO soccer and the other played JUCO basketball.

Brother was a walk-on (CB) at Oklahoma State when Jimmy Johnson was the HC.

SMU, Tulsa, and Southern Miss this fall.

If he gets a full ride at SMU that should be a no brainer.

My pops played baseball at Rice.

and to the OP, I played baseball against Scott Podsednik growing up (I was in Waco, he was in West).  Very fast dude.

My Great Uncle, Eddie Meador played for the LA Rams from 59 to 70. He is on the 60s all decade team. 2 time first team all pro and 6 time pro bowler.  A few years back I got to meet Merlin Olsen, Deacon Jones, and Rosie Grier with him at a Rams Alumni game. This year we got to go to the Rams vs Packers game and stay in the Rams sweet in the back of the end zone at the Colosseum.

My nephew was a walk-on at Texas for 2 years under Mack Brown and 2 years under Charlie Strong.

Charlie actually put him into a game at the end of his senior season.

I just placed in my age group at the local Turkey Trot. It came with a medal, a glass and a 10 dollar gift card to the local running store. It’s basically like being a D1 athlete.

My uncle is Deane Beman, he was a  PGA golfer and the Commissioner of the PGA Tour from 1974-94

my cousin played triple A ball for the Tulsa Oilers back in the 70's. it was a farm team for the Cardinals. he played with Keith Hernandez, Bake McBride, Jim Dwyer.

My neighbor who is like my brother, his step daughter is married to Jim Bertlsen’s son..

does that count?

Andy Bertlsen is a great guy and father and sings in the band Texas Renegade.  He is really good and I recommend you check him and his band out!

hook’em

My dad played basketball for the Horns on scholarship, got hurt after his freshman year, and became team manager afterwards. He met my mom at UT.

My uncle played baseball for UT. He met my aunt there on campus.

My other uncle played baseball for UT and made all conference 2 years in a row.

This all took place at the same time, late 1950s. I was born with orange blood doubt.

D1 golf. Same for my dad and his two brothers.

My brother played D3 basketball. Uncle played football at bowling green and was on NFL practice squads for a couple years.

Dad played basketball 1 year at Mizzou (1929). Quit to work his way through school after the depression cranked up.

My uncle (Dad's little bro), played on the practice squad for 1 season under David McWilliams. My grandma, RIP, used to love to tell the story of her answering the phone with Coach McWilliams on the other end, asking to speak with her son.

Swam as walk on for UT , freshman year and a little bit as a sophomore in Eddie Reese first year.

Son swam for SMU, another  son played soccer for Rhodes.

my son was discus thrower at Angelo St

My daughter currently plays softball for Angelo St.

Step dad was a walkon at La Tech. Blew his knee out. Younger brother was a pitcher at SAU, turned down the Royals in the 10th I think his jr year. Couldn’t agree on a signing bonus. Youngest brother played outfield for UT Tyler, tore his labrum.

Wife’s cousin is Mark Cridland. Played baseball at Texas in mid to late 90s still pretty high up on a few of the Horns career hitting lists around slugging and HRs.

I have a great Grandfather who played for the White Sox pre Black Sox era.

Born in Long Beach to a father from El Salvador and a mother from San Antonio. Raised in San Antonio.

Wife's cousin from a couple of generations ago was olympic sprinter Bobby Morrow.

I have an aunt and a couple of cousins who ran track at NAIA schools way back when.

Jim Gideon is a cousin of mine. Both of us are descendants of one of the families in Austin's Old 300. Zadock Woods family.

My parents were close friends with Burt Hooten's parents.

When I was little my dad used to tell all us kids that he played first base for the Cincinnati Reds. My older sister told her first grade class that for show and tell.

My great grandmother lived next door to AJ Foyt in River Oaks

No, but my college roommate's dad played for the Pistons for 7 years, so this hits close to home.

My brother played QB for Texas. Scored the game winning TD in the 2006 Rose Bowl.

Rules

Think wheelhouse.

My Mom played volleyball, basketball, and softball in college in the early days of women’s athletics, and my Grandma was MVP of her WAVES Navy basketball team in WW2, and played some exhibition tennis matches against the reigning women’s US Open champ in college.

I played for Texas on full scholarship.  However, I was ruled ineligible the week before the Sugar Bowl against Va. Tech and it was kind of a big thing.  You might have heard about it.

I bet Armybrat tried to fuck her.

I have an uncle that played basketball for Nebraska in the early '70s.  He was drafted by the Cincinnati Royals in the 15th Round(!) but he never even went to camp.  His son played hoops for TCU.

I ran cross country at an NAIA school, does that count?

You MS13?

My Grandfather lettered in Baseball for NC State back in the 1930s...but...while he was a pretty fanatical baseball fan and avid amateur player (I have a lot of his old gear) he never mentioned this while he was alive and I only found out he was a letterman when I found his old year books. So I am unable to confirm if he actually played for the team or was the team manager or something. Records from the 1930s are pretty spotty.
