Unpopular opinion: I don't care for pie.

Unpopular opinion would be an understatement.

My granny used to make a pie that was kind of a cross between pecan and mincemeat. Don't know what all the ingredients were and the only name I heard it called was Mother's pie. It was glorious, especially with a tall cold glass of milk. Unfortunately, the recipe died with her.

Also a fan of pecan, pumpkin, sweet potato and cherry. The downside of cherry is nobody makes them from scratch and canned filling just isn't the same.

Had Key Lime and Pecan yesterday...both good as always.  I like a really well made cake better than pie but for the average offering in both categories...give me pie

I’m the opposite, more of a pie fan but do love German Chocolate cake and carrot cake.

We had 4 pies for 6 people. Is that excessive?

Apple, pumpkin, chocolate and buttermilk. Fuck yes. Now i need to go get some pie.

Agreed. Cake is far superior.

This thread sent me down a 30 minute YouTube hole watching The Rock talk about pie.

I posted my grandmother's apple pie recipe on the old board. I need to find it. I fucked this year's pie up because I followed my email recipe which wasn't as detailed. It was still good but not as good as usual. Fuckin' what's his name.

Cake is merely an icing transportation device.

Team sweet potato pie... That, pecan, and coconut cream are my top three

Coconut cream pie with a scoop of Mary Ann on the side.  Used to love meringue pie as a kid but not so much anymore.

Never heard of buttermilk or chess pie.
Don't know about chess pie, but you're missing out with buttermilk.

The daughter makes Buttermilk pie, good recipe, just had a piece, and a cup of coffee about 20 minutes ago.

Lemon chess pie is great, think buttermilk with a lemon flavor, and a bit thicker texture.

One of the best part of hosting thanksgiving ??....... lots of leftovers.
