Bunch of Russian milbloggers want him to replace Shoigu

He was so successful in Syria using a reinforced BN to hit a US outpost. That worked real well. Hell, they got their asses kicked in Northern Mozambique. Let me guess. He got fucked also in other wars.

Dear Russia. Please replace all your generals. The issue is your troops, equipment and supplies suck, and you have the discipline of a drunk gopnik wearing knock off Adidas, riding in a fucked up Lada listening to shitty hard bass.

If you want we can send you the Corps of Cadets to teach you leadership. (insert video of their dumbass driving. At least he might be hard to be hit by HIMARS.)

This is a video of your Sgt. Major, or perhaps your next General cadre.

I was talking to a friend that watches Tucker Carlson. He repeated a couple of Carlson’s claims- “NATO action forced Russia to act”.

I countered, “What? NATO is a defensive alliance. It’s like the old Reagan joke, pointing out that all the Berlin Wall guards, east and west, face the same direction! NATO is a threat to nothing but western Russian expansion.

“Does Russia have no agency? They had two paths in front of them- engagement, freedom and prosperity, or hostility, repression and poverty. Nobody forced them to choose the latter.”

Also from r/NAFO, but it's real. That's Ukrainian Minister of Defense, Oleksii Reznikov, wearing his NAFO avatar.

I believe they should be marked as a state sponsor of terror but I think we are dragging our feet because of how much business India and China do with them.

No CR but the Biden admin has said “This designation could have unintended consequences to Ukraine and the world." which makes me think they are concerned about crude and other prices will react if the Russians are truly shut off from the world.

If the Russians are no longer able to market crude to India and China, we very quickly return to a +$110 price environment on crude oil which doesn't play well into the admins hands with gas prices and heating right before the election in Nov. (Sorry this is probably CR material but that's my take working in the commodities side of the industry)

This.  China has an ongoing opportunity to make a big play for Russian resources at a bargain price.  And China rarely misses an opportunity to make such a play.  And Russia doesn't have much leverage as a counter-weight.

Russia has lost most of the European gas market for good.  They have proven to be too unreliable and erratic a trading partner.  Even regime change and a complete change in tone won't change that outcome.  The only smart play for Europe is to not depend on Russia for anything that important.  But for China....that play makes sense.  They can bend Russia over a barrel, extract resource concessions for pennies on the yuan, and Russia will need their cash too badly to say no.

There's a really good chance that we see, long-term, a russian tilt to the east out of necessity.  It will have burned its bridges with the West, and it still needs a market and large trading partner.  Enter China.  The future looks like a much weakened Russia, and a stronger China.

Ukrainian astronomers say the skies over their war-torn country are crowded not only with Russian missiles, but a large number of UFOs.

The surprising claims were outlined in a new research paper published by the Main Astronomical Observatory of Ukraine’s National Academy of Science.

The paper, titled “Unidentified area phenomena I. Observations of events,” claims that researchers have detected numerous UFOs from two meteor observation stations in Kyiv and the village of Vinarivka, about 75 miles outside the capital.

“We see them everywhere. We observe a significant number of objects whose nature
is not clear,” the authors of the paper write. “Flights of single, group and squadrons of the ships were detected, moving at speeds from 3 to 15 degrees per second.”

Ukrainian scientists involved in the study described two different types of UFOs, which they call “cosmics” and “phantoms.”

A composite image from the research paper shows what the scientists describe as a black "phantom" object flying through the sky. According to the paper, a “cosmic” is a luminous object that appears brighter than the background of the sky, while a “phantom” is a dark object with “a completely black body that does not emit and absorbs all the radiation falling on it.”

The main characteristic of the UFOs observed by Kyiv’s astronomers is their extremely high speed, which can only be detected with specialized equipment.

“The eye does not fix phenomena lasting less than one-tenth of a second,” the study says. “It takes four-tenths of a second to recognize an event. Ordinary photo and video recordings will also not capture the UFO. To detect UAP [unidentified aerial phenomenon], you need to fine-tune the equipment: shutter speed, frame rate, and dynamic range.”

Using color video cameras with fine-tuned shutter speed, frame rate and range positioned at the two meteor observation stations, the researchers said, they were able to record the unknown objects zooming through the sky.

A composite image of a “phantom” included in the paper shows the unidentified dark object moving through space.

The paper does not say what these objects might be and makes no references to the ongoing war, now in its seventh month, which has seen Russian missiles raining down on Ukrainian cities.

From Kyiv Independent

Russia threatens US 'to react' if it provides Ukraine with long-range weapons. According to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said that if the U.S. provides long-range missiles to Ukraine, it will make them a “party to the conflict.”

I'm pretty tired of Russian red lines.  If we aided Ukraine, it was going to be an act of war.  If we imposed sanctions, war.  If we capped the price of Russian oil, war.

And yet, we're still not at war.

So yeah--sorry Russia, but I don't believe you.

Paywall.  But the thesis is damned important.  Always be thinking ahead, and in this case, one of the reasonably likely paths ahead is one of massive chaos and upheaval, which presents both incredible danger and incredible opportunity.

Gotta defeat Russia and win this war first.....but it would be stupid not to be gaming for all reasonably possible outcomes over the next few months to several years.
