He's translating Putin's comments, so they're definitely inflated. 3D will be around shortly to critique Viper about this 😉

I have him in my dead pool before the end of the month, but he might make it into July or August.

Prigozhin gathered another meeting to discuss the current state of events, said the Ukrainian offensive is moving competently and carefully, not enough is being done to stop them.

Putin wants all Russian soldiers pardoned of warcrimes, regardless of when they were committed.

Quote

Russia submitted a bill to parliament pardoning all small and medium crimes of participants of the so-called "SMO". Both professionals and mobiks will be exempted from criminal prosecution even if the crimes were committed before the law came into force. Those who receive state awards or retired from service will also be exempt. The Russian army is becoming criminal not only de-facto but also de-jure.

Interesting...Putin maybe trying to get a different picture of what's going on.

A good indication of the influence of prominent Russian Telegram channels and voenkors in this meeting with Putin, including Sladkov, Kots, Poddubny, Pegov, Filatov, Kulko, Rudenko, Steshin, Gazdiev, Zimenkin, Agranovich, Kuksenkova, Ushenin, etc. https://t.co/kqeQu5zu2u
Some of these voenkors have been very critical of Russian generals, as a whole and focusing on individuals.
Personal observation: all are extremely loyal to the regime, constantly spewing nazi shit on their channels, quick to lie in any topic.

Why would I critique Viper?  ChrisO's post made it clear he was translating Putin.  Your post suggested she was translating Putin, too, yet she wasn't.  She drew a conclusion from what was said.

If you post something misleading you should just own it rather than be a bitch.

It was just a joke, pal. Sometimes I have time to spell out my reasoning for sharing something, sometimes I don't. In this case I didn't have time, and I presumed that anyone who watched the actual video would be clear on what was truly being said because it's not exactly a subtle inconsistency.

Anyway, here's reporting on the Nord Stream explosion. The CIA told Ukraine not to move forward on their plan (previously reported) to destroy the pipeline after the Netherlands' intelligence told the US about Ukraine's plan.

When the Russians do something especially terrible, and Russian sympathizers rush to defend them and claim they couldn’t  have or wouldn’t have done it, well, give them enough time and the Russian leaders or state TV, or both, will eventually admit to it.

Yep, all of this.  It is functionally identical to the element of our domestic information space that is occupied by folks who happen to be pro/sympathetic to Russia: in the same breath, they 1) deny doing X, and then 2) brag about doing X.  That way, in whatever argument they have, they can point to whichever statement serves their argument better....without any regard for which statement is true.

This is disinformation 101, and it is the only language that Russia speaks.

At this point, the safe thing to do is to presume every individual with a Russian passport is an active participant in or an accessory to a war crime.  Expel them and deport them to Russia.  All of them.  Want to stay in a country other than Russia?  Then surrender your Russian passport and seek asylum as a refugee.  Those are the two options: you are a refugee, or you are an accessory and deported to Russia.

Long thread from Nathan Ruser about Russian fortifications

🧵I've updated this fortifications data to include all Southern occupied Ukraine (Donetsk city - Crimea - Kinburn) with 2,389 fortifications traced from new satellite imagery. A download link is included.https://t.co/ElPKHH1kNmSo what does this mean for the Ukrainian offensive? https://t.co/S9NfNpBPmO

End of thread

But, regardless of how bullish you are on Ukraine's capabilities, these fortifications aren't something we can wave away. It will not be easy to overcome the line, and it will likely be a battle of attrition. But Ukraine has options, and no reason yet to doubt their ability.

State Deputy Volodin commented on the subject, stating that 'Delimkhanov is all fine' and claims to have had a call with him.

The Guardian is reporting that Kadyrov reached out to Ukrainian intelligence for any information on Delimkhanov saying he hadn't heard anything from him in days. Ukrainian media is saying his convoy got hit by artillery and he dead.

Sounds like the Russians are learning locally. Good thing their command and control structure is still all fucked up.

2/ ...The Russian forces launch Lancet drones to target these air defense positions, and hit Ukr soldiers with the help of sniper ambushes. When Ukr. military tries to pursue these snipers, they flee on ATVs, and are protected by mortar screening fire. https://t.co/ShSmHuuwK3

4/ "This scheme is working. Our field commanders are more resourceful and smarter than many generals in Moscow. At a local level, they show how it is generally possible to suppress adversary anti-aircraft defense."
6/ Previously, Russian commanders experimented with short-range quadcopters and FPVs for greater efficiency - this post shows experimentation at a much larger scale. Even if this is part of propaganda, Lancet drones are indeed becoming more dangerous.
8/ Usual caveats apply with such pro-Kremlin Telegram channels - all content is part of the larger information environment. However, certain key tech and systems patterns described/identified are in fact apparent and are used by the Russian military.
