Did someone say RPK?

This is me at a shaggy shoot out a while back.

Ukraine's Defense Forces continue to destroy the Russians in the Tavria sector, with the invaders losing more than two companies of soldiers killed and wounded in action in this sector of the front in the last day.

General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, commander of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops, said this in a Telegram post, Ukrinform reports.

According to him, Ukrainian artillery units completed 1,437 tasks in the sector in the last 24 hours.

Ukrainian defenders destroyed 23 pieces of Russian military equipment, three ammunition depots and a command post.

In particular, the invaders lost two tanks, a 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzer, an Orlan-10 UAV, a Merlin UAV, a Granat-1 UAV, three 2S3 Akatsiya self-propelled artillery systems, a 2S7 Pion self-propelled artillery system, a Buk anti-aircraft missile system, a Tor anti-aircraft missile system, two 2S5 Giatsint-S self-propelled howitzers, a 2A36 Giatsint –B self-propelled howitzer, a Tornado self-propelled howitzer, a BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher, and vehicles.

Well, you told us Russia lost a plethora. And I just would like to know if you know what a plethora is. I would not like to think that a person would tell someone Russia lost a plethora, and then find out that that person has *no idea* what it means to have a plethora.

The noise on Capitol Hill about the transfer of DPICM is frustrating. I get the hesitancy but if you want to be against them while saying you want to help Ukraine win— then you need to come with alternate plans to make up for the 155 shortfall and not just “be better.”

Narrator: They don’t actually oppose them. They’re just trying to claim political points so Biden doesn’t get all of them.

BTW, the British East India company was the entity that sold opium to the Chinese. AFAIK the US had nothing to do with that, which makes the Chinese Fetanyl crisis even more evil.

Driving through backwoods Normandy with a French friend, I saw a hulk of an ancient castle. Asked him "why is that here?"

He said "To keep YOU out!"

The French still see the British and Americans as the same annoying longbowmen. Surely it's no stretch for the Chinese to throw all red-hair barbarians in the same wok.

Interesting development. And I'm sure NATO aircraft will be watching.

Ukraine will soon receive anti-mine ships from the Netherlands, Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said.

I think I've been on the record as not a fan of his, but one thing we can always trust is that he will do what's best for him. He is now on his final term, due to term limits, unless they change their laws, so my hope is that he is now in IDGAF mode and stops pandering so much to Russia.

looks like i have a new fan that is following me now that ayden is now terrified of me and knows im not playing any more....

here is the deal russia at its current peake can not clear 30K a month in heavy artillery shell production, FACT
they currently have only one factory FACT
they are trying to get another up but they dont have the machinery for it... fact

of the 13 million shells they had they have fired over 10M.. fact

the 13 million were a mix of 152, 125, 122, 130, 110, 100, 85, and 57mm shells.  they were all not heavy artillery... fact

of the shells they are making now many missfire or are of bad production resulting in many rounds not working or damaging the cannons. FACT

as long as they still have the plant operational they will have rounds.  but its a single plant.. any explosion or accident will end production... and the SBU knows this.

the remaining rounds are in siberia and not in great shape, they have been sitting outside for 30 years and have to be refurbished,,, this takes time and will delay much of the ammo getting to the front.. fact

N. korea and china have not provided 1 artillery round, and will not.  they will not back russia... fact

iran does not have a large production facility for ammo and bought what it needed mostly from china, russia, and ukraine for its 152s and 122.  of them they really dont use the russian guns and keep them in storage.. the ones they have.   fact

russia has bought rounds from some african countries, but the countries refuse to give a export permit for them. and turkey will not let them be shipped in.  fact

russian guns have a max range of 25km (152mm 2S19), while the 155mm guns shoot 40KM.. fact...

in the last 10 years russia has made 12 artillery guns... fact

ukraine is getting in about 120-200 artillery guns per month right now from countries all over the world, and this is speeding up as it goes along. far more than losses.

while ru is struggling with a single plant western production that is ramping up every min of every day in....

Putin is clearly down and it’s Erdogan’s chance to try and show Turkish leadership/independence or whatever.  They (and Erdogan) are a very proud people and with Russia suffering, it’s their chance to exert their influence in the region.

But it’s going to be a helluva flex with the Turkish Navy escorting those ships.  It’s not what I expected out of Erdogan.

I’m impressed if he follows through because it’s time other countries start stepping up and telling Russia to fuck off.  Will be curious to see how Russian state TV spins it.

He might want to try, as other Turkish leaders have done in the past, leverage strength and push for more control with the Caucus tribes.

No surprise.  Twitter Blue accounts fueling Russian misinformation about Ukraine.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-66113460

Quote

False and misleading posts about the Ukraine conflict continue to go viral on major social media platforms, as Russia's invasion of the country extends beyond 500 days.

Some of the most widely shared examples can be found on Twitter, posted by subscribers with a blue tick, who pay for their content to be promoted to other users.

Fucking Qanon dipshits

Quote

Several Twitter accounts with a blue tick have recently promoted a claim that Russia has discovered "baby factories" in Ukraine.

Children between the ages of two and seven are said to be "factory farmed", and either sent to "child sex brothels" or to have their organs harvested and sold in the West.

Quote

BBC Verify has traced the origin of the claim to an article published in March by The People's Voice, an alternative name for YourNewsWire, which has been described by fact-checking organisations as one of the biggest producers of fake news on the internet.

It has previously promoted a wide range of false and misleading stories, including anti-vaccine conspiracy theories and false claims about the 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas.

Quote

The Russian government and Kremlin-controlled media have a history of promoting unsubstantiated claims about illegal organ harvesting in Ukraine.

Quote

Contacted by BBC Verify for a response to the false and misleading Twitter Blue posts highlighted in this article, Twitter's press office acknowledged receipt of our enquiry, but declined to comment.

So they got a poop emoji in response?

There’s also the matter of Turkish and Russian troops having mixed it up in Syria.

Remember that time the Turks shot down a Russian Su-24 because it flew into Turkish airspace while on a Syrian bombing run? That was pretty cool, huh?

I'm a little confused by why President Biden said those statements today about Ukraine and NATO membership.  He isn't wrong for saying it, but that's something that you just don't broadcast out.

Cart before the horse.  They need to focus on mustering support for the here and now, the fight that is happening in a hundred places across the frontlines.  It’s also a bit of a distraction and fodder for the pro-Putin supporters in the West

We've also had 500 days of Putin and Russian state media claiming this is a war against NATO, and having serious talks at a major NATO meeting about Ukraine joining fits their messaging and could help Putin reinvigorate those talking points. It also plays into the hands of those in the West claiming this is about NATO expansion.

Everybody would be better served by getting Ukraine as much as they need, helping them build out for the future (including fighters) and things like Turkey escorting  Ukrainian cargo ships.

Because half of NATO is willing to take a vote at the meeting next week and they are publicly saying so.  It’s playing into Putin’s hands, even though he’s the reason for NATO expansion in the first place.

My son told me last night about watching a bunch of crows in front of his house in a feud with some Peregrine Falcons who had a nest nearby.  The crows would land on the street near the falcon nest, and a falcon would swoop down for a minor dust up.  He watched a while and noticed that the crows kept coming back as cars were approaching, and would get out of the way at the last minute. Finally, even more crows landed on the ground, near the nest, enticing, one of the Falcons to fly down.

The crows all bailed right before the delivery truck smooshed the falcon.
