There's another interesting account from a Russian officer, sorry long post again, but he tells what led to Ukrainian success in Klischiivka, including Russia bringing up unprepared troops from various units into an area, describing them as disorganised. He also mentions…

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky stated after the Large Russian Missile Attack today that there are “Very Good Results” from the Frontline in the Southeast and that Details will soon be released.

Pretty remarkable stat he gives in that article:

88% of casualties are from artillery.

10% are from snipers.

2% are from ordinary gunfire.

My drunk ass recently paid ebay a C-note for an original of my dad’s 1937 high school yearbook. So I’m in for $100 as well.

Are we talking a Barrett 107a1 in 50 caliber or something else? I know the daughter of the owner of KDF guns in Sequin and they do custom work mainly with imported German firearms (originally Kleingunther). Since she went to UT, I would think I could get a discount on the $11K estimate.

Here is a summary from this guy’s text. Key reasons why, according to him, RU forces are unsuccessful in Bakhmut:

- Overcrowding of units on the frontline - too many units crammed into a small area made organizing a proper defense difficult. The more units command pushed in, the worse the chances of stable defense became.

- Lack of rotation and rest for units - some units had been stationed there for months, losing 2/3 of their personnel and equipment. New arriving units had no time to dig in or build defenses before coming under fire.

- Poor morale and lack of will to fight - many units are simply morally suppressed and waiting for their turn to retreat. Panic sets in easily and many flee at the first sign of heavy shelling rather than stand their ground.

- Poor middle management - some commanders act inadequately, failing to inspect positions or lead their men. When crisis hits, junior officers have to take charge.

- Lack of coordination and communication - units with different communication systems crammed together, artillery support not coordinated properly, commanders out of touch with situations on the ground.

- Failure to utilize resources - heaps of unused equipment left lying around, units unwilling to dig trenches or set up defenses even when means are available.

- Poor training and preparation of mobilized troops - some mobilized reservists did not even have basic first aid training or kits after months of supposed training.

Ukraine, which is known for agriculture and other heavy industry, is not an obvious setting for drone innovation. But due to the war, the country turned rapidly into a super lab of invention in drone warfare using AI, The Washing Post writes. https://t.co/4IuyYOCEfc

SBU special unit reveals the location of a moving TOS-1A Solntsepyok which is then attacked with an FPV drone leading to its catastrophic implosion.

Romanov talks about "very serious risk" of Russians leaving the village of Staromairoske which will lead to the surrender of Urozhaine. He says the Russian command is unable to contain the situation.

Khodakovsky confirms the liberation of Staromaiorske, but says it's not going to be easy for Ukrainians in its ruins. At the same time, he says that occupying the village were the so-called former "DPR" forces that are extremely battered. This shows significant issues for Russia…

If they have taken Staromaiorske (and adjacent Urozhaine) then, the tiny town of Zavitne only remains between them and Staromlynivksa

Staromlynivska opens the road to Mariupol

Someone really smart needs to overlay the map of Ukraine on to the map of texas so we could hear this instead:

Rumors are they’ve taken buda. One they get through San Marcos and new braunfels they can begin to take back San Antonio.

more context.

Sure is a lot of public talk about the majority of their force being committed in the south in the near future. It’s one thing to say they’re already fully engaged in those areas, but it’s entirely different to say it’ll be happening over the next few weeks. I’ll be shocked if that’s where they actually attack.

The Russian Black Sea Fleet is increasing military posturing in the Black Sea, likely in an attempt to set conditions to forcibly stop & search civilian vessels & exert increased control.#Russia is unlikely to attempt a full blockade of #Ukraine, however. https://t.co/LBQc1biLAz

Turkey needs to sack up and allow NATO ships to escort the Ukraine grain carriers from Odesa in & out of the Black Sea.

Screw the nutless UN and Russia’s veto. This is a major world wide food supply concern.

I don't believe that NATO wants to do anything that might put them in a potential direct confrontation with Russia. That's why they're talking about exporting grain via other ports outside Ukraine.

Also they've put enough missiles into the Odesa elevators this week that it's going to be a real bitch loading out of them for awhile.
