Yeah my Aggie kid already spent 6 months on the Polish Ukraine border with the 82nd starting the week after the invasion, helping out St. Javelin.

Still, outliers.

It’s the Aggies that do Aggie things without Army money involvement that make me chuckle.

From last night.

from the replies

Allegedly significant Ukrainian forces have entered Novoprokopivka maybe trying to capture it quickly before Russian defenses there firm up. We may learn in the next day or two how succesful that is. At same time, another force is advancing eastward from Robotyne towards Verbove.

Im not saying that Russian air crash investigators aren’t concerned about preserving evidence, but:

Obviously fuck Russia and all the war criminals they’ve sent to fight but that still frame is still tough to see for me. Dude was in abject terror and couldn’t process that sitting down with hands up was the only way to survive, then died running to what he thought was safety. Unarmed just freaked the fuck out and dies for nothing.

Kind of like that one clip with 4 dudes: two UKA at the top left of the hill and two orcs at the bottom right where the orc in very un-russian fashion is trying to pull his buddy to safety. But then the UKA guy Colt McCoys a grenade just perfectly on to them and boom, both gone.

russia can eat a bag of dicks for eternity, just tough at times to see any humanity brutality destroyed.

This is the horror of war.  And specifically the horror of this war.  The completely unnecessary waste of human lives.  Not to mention all the destruction of material and cultural things.

In this case, all for the hubris of one man.  It is overwhelming at times and I'm just following a thread on a message board full of idoits and assholes. Not even close to the trenches.

Ukraine has always understood that they'll win this war by disrupting logistics.

I'm starting to doubt if winning was ever Russia's goal.

Latvia has confirmed it transferred another Mi-17 helicopter to Ukraine. Earlier it became known that Latvia wanted to donate its entire fleet of Soviet-era helicopters to Ukraine.

Greece terminated the contract with Russia for technical support and maintenance of the Tor-M1 and Osa-AKM air defense systems. Greece has 21 Tor-M1 and 38 OSA-AK(M). It is possible an unknown amount will be supplied to Ukraine via third party countries. https://t.co/PLBZaVJixt

Based on what we know, it also seems like it was deliberately set to blow the wing off, but allow the passengers and crew to survive the blast in the cabin, if only to enhance the horror for those final moments.

I think the last part might be a bit of lost in translation, or a bit confusing because there are multiple things going on in.  He says the are frantic, attempting to prevent a breakthrough, but then saying that numbers of reserves, reinforcements and rotations are incorrect.  I don't take that to mean that they are incorrect in Russia's favor, but rather that they don't have much left in the tank from a personnel standpoint.  Basically, they are frantic because there isn't much behind them to help should it come to that.

Maybe I am reading that wrong, but I think it's positive in Ukraine's favor.  Fingers crossed.

Sorry, that's not it. He clarified in the thread:

Some people have being claiming that russia concentrated everything near Robotyne, hence they can't deploy reserves or rotate forces, which is incorrect, because they have forces for both.

Kofman has said that at a certain point, he felt continuing to defend Bakhmut hurt Ukraine more than Russia. His argument was that Ukraine started trading experienced troops for Russia's minimally trained, expendable troops. He also questioned keeping very experienced troops at Bakhmut to attack there this summer while they had green troops for the main attacks in the south.
