Sweden will also donate its entire stock of armoured tracked personnel carriers (PBV 302) to support the reconstruction of new Ukrainian brigades. Sweden will also donate artillery ammunition and resources for maintenance of previously donated materiel. (3/6)

Sweden had 172 PBV 302s in service in its last report.

Can Ukraine win this war without troops from outside the country? Right now I don't know how they breakthrough with the numerical superiority of Russia, though of course I want to be wrong. Who knows what the future has in store but I think right now the front is going to remain static.

They don’t have to necessarily “win it”, they just have to make it too costly for Russia.  I would compare it to Vietnam, but that’s probably not the best comparison given that the Vietnamese couldn’t take the fight to our shores, but they destroyed a shitload of our equipment (lots of planes and helicopters shot down) and created the impression that we were not going to “win it” (even if we won many tactical engagements). Afghanistan is a much better comparison due to proximity, but even that’s not the best one, however this could be far costlier economically than Afghanistan so in the economic sense it’s an apt comparison. The best comparison is probably still us invading Mexico and barely making it out of Juarez and Tijuana, meanwhile Mexico is pounding Fort Bliss and hitting our refineries in Houston and in Louisiana.

If they keep pounding away at Russian air defenses - Russia ain’t replacing a lot them, at least not anytime soon, especially those whose main production lines shut down decades ago, then they will force a lot of Russia’s military infrastructure further (farther!) back.  Russia will have to keep redeploying their limited air defenses as systems are destroyed, most likely deeper into Russia proper. If they keep hitting Russia in the wallet with strikes on the oil and gas infrastructure, if Russia raises taxes like it sounds, and so on, and this just keeps dragging on, Putin will be faced with the Afghanistan problem.

I feel like it’s only a matter of time until Crimea is cut off from Russia, and that might be the beginning of the end.  All these drone and missile attacks inside of Russia are forcing them to move air defenses out of Ukraine and into Russia.  We focus on the economic costs of the oil and gas infrastructure being hit, but the movement of air defenses is probably more important.  At some point they’ll have the gaps they need to hit the bridge in multiple locations, and they will probably unleash ATACMS against the train lines,

Imagine taking out their rail hubs that are servicing Russian troops. And their closer air bases.

Biden admin wants to discuss it more and more. Not take action. Too slow at simple decisions. Same as it was for the seizing of Russian assets.

When we do give Ukraine permission to use our supplies on Russian soil, I hope that we don't say anything about it.  Let Ukraine announce it by HIMARSing the shit out of the Russian artillery that's been pounding the Kharkiv area.  Let Ukraine have the element of surprise on their side for once.

Hopefully, it is a multi-pronged attack at multiple targets in many different areas of Russia. F16s, HIMARS, Storm Shadows, ATACMS targeted towards concentrated military targets around Russia. Short and long-term it would be much more effective than some symbolic target like the bridge or Putin's vacation home. Those targets would still be there on day 2 or month 2, whenever Ukraine gets around to it.

France’s Macron urges a green light for Ukraine to strike targets inside Russia with Western weapons

France’s president has joined the head of NATO in pushing for a policy shift that could change the complexion of the war in Ukraine — allowing Kyiv to strike military bases inside Russia with sophisticated long-range weapons provided by Western partners.

The question of whether to allow Ukraine to hit targets on Russian soil with Western-supplied weaponry has been a delicate issue since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion on Feb. 24, 2022.

Western leaders have mostly shrunk from taking the step because it runs the risk of provoking Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has repeatedly warned that the West’s direct involvement could put the world on a path to nuclear conflict.

But the war has been going Russia’s way recently as the Kremlin’s forces have exploited Ukrainian shortages in troops and ammunition after a lengthy delay in U.S. military aid, and Western Europe’s inadequate military production slowed crucial deliveries to the battlefield.

Russian missiles and bombs have pummeled Ukrainian military positions and civilian areas, including the power grid. Ukraine is facing its hardest test of the war, and untying its hands on long-range weapons could spur a fightback and upset the Kremlin.

Macron said that France’s position is that “we think we must allow (Ukraine) to neutralize the (Russian) military sites from which the missiles are fired.”

“If we tell (the Ukrainians) you do not have the right to reach the point from which the missiles are fired, we are in fact telling them that we are delivering weapons to you, but you cannot defend yourself,” Macron said late Tuesday on an official visit to Germany.

His remarks came a day after NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg urged the alliance’s members to lift some of the restrictions on Ukraine’s use of Western weapons.

“The right to self-defense includes hitting legitimate targets outside Ukraine,” Stoltenberg said at a NATO meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria on Monday.

US going after Wagner's buddies.

The United States is today designating two entities based in the Central African Republic (CAR) for their efforts in supporting destabilizing activities by the Kremlin-backed Wagner Group in Africa.  Mining Industries SARLU and Logistique Economique Etrangere SARLU have played a vital role in enabling Wagner Group security operations and illicit mining endeavors in CAR.

Russia’s Wagner Group has committed widespread human rights abuses and appropriated natural resources across multiple countries in Africa.  A proxy military force of the Kremlin, the Wagner Group has carried out combat operations around the world, including in Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine.

Today’s action reflects our continued efforts to counter the Wagner Group’s damaging and destabilizing presence in Africa.  The United States remains committed to deterring and disrupting Russia’s destabilizing activities.

It's sad seeing someone you used to think was cool turn into such a shit-bag, but that's the timeline we live in.

Actor-turned-Putin sycophant Steven Seagal declares Ukraine 'was known for organ trafficking, child sex trafficking and Nazism' before invasion as Vladimir presents him with Russia's Order of Friendship | Daily Mail Online

Quote

Before the special operation, Ukraine was known for human trafficking, organ trafficking, narcotrafficking, child sex trafficking, biochemical warfare labs, fascism, and Nazism.

We still try to make them our brothers. These poisons can affect the entire world, not just us.

Many people say we are facing an existential threat by all these conditions, but actually the whole world is at risk of becoming dangerously close to entering World War Three.

We are fighting the same monster trying to devour, conquer and control the world through lies, disinformation and manipulation.'
