Joke's on them, Russia has plenty of mine sweepers to detect and neutralize any such mines.

These sophisticated personnel are also referred to as "vatniks on mopeds."

I volunteered today. Log/Admin role to replace people for 30-60 days. The operation is in the west, or should the Orcs win will be pulled back behind the NATO wall. Either way the humanitarian effort

I think you need to replace has with had - or Russia with North Korea.

The US actually tried to send minesweepers to Russia as part of  the lend lease program in WWII,  but Stalin refused them because that's what troops are for.

Pretty remarkable moment at Trump's NATO press conference

The tone of the whole press conference was generally positive for Ukraine and Zelensky and negative towards Russia and Putin, so it was a departure from Trump's previous comments. Could lay the foundation for a shift. Here's hoping.

Here's me not holding my breath.

But I will give you that was the closest thing to a genuine feeling of concern for another human being I've ever seen out of that pile of shit in an ill fitting suit.

Afterwards I'd expect he probably got on AF1 and made some comment about her tits though.

Russia was talking shit about Trump after the bombing of Iran, so maybe he's pissed at Russia now.

Putin‘s mouthpieces have been shit talking and making fun of Trump for a few weeks.     We really need some journalist to ask Donald and the press conference what he thinks about what they’re saying about him quoting the worst things they say - where they call him a clown.

Once you publicize that Putin is saying bad things about him, and enough people are aware of that, he will be almost forced to shit on his daddy.

This.  You can goad a narcissist into any number of actions if you just present the right stimulus in the right ways.  They are simplistic creatures.  All of our foes know this.  And use it.

I'll say again, there's no harm in hoping, Guys.  Let's hope it true.

Nearly 140K Russian Soldiers Back From War Are in Need of Reintegration, Kremlin Says

https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2025/06/26/nearly-140k-russian-soldiers-back-from-war-are-in-need-of-reintegration-kremlin-says-a89581

Spoiler

Almost 140,000 Russian soldiers have returned to civilian life after fighting in the war against Ukraine and now require reintegration support, a Kremlin official said Thursday.

“Around 137,000 fighters have already returned home from the front lines of the special military operation,” said Sergei Novikov, who heads the Kremlin’s Directorate for Social Projects, at a state-funded youth forum.

“These are mostly young people... under 35,” Novikov was quoted as saying by the TASS news agency. “They need help retraining, finding new jobs. Not just any jobs, but decent ones. Because right now, in the combat zone, they’re earning solid pay.”

Soldiers earn at least 204,000 rubles ($2,600) per month while deployed in Ukraine.

“They need to return home in a way that doesn't cause a drop in household income,” Novikov added.

Russia’s government, which estimates that just over half of demobilized war veterans have found employment, has introduced job support programs, vocational training and financial incentives for employers to hire veterans with disabilities.

Reintegration efforts have also gained urgency amid a reported rise in violent crimes involving returning veterans. Court records show Russian soldiers have killed at least 378 people after returning to civilian life since the February 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

Russia’s Defense Ministry estimates that one in five war veterans suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, according to lawmakers. Russia has fewer than one therapist for every 7,000 adults, and even fewer with experience treating combat trauma

It was a term my late mother-in-law used now & then.
She was German ethnic, but I dunno if that had anything to do with it. There were a lot of Czech ethnics in Taylor where she lived most of her life.

Did you see the missiles launch through the top of the cabin. First question, how are they literally in one piece. Second, how are they not well done Asian Skewers of meat. Holy shit.

Honestly, think death may have been a better outcome. As a past victim of 3rd degree burns on a small part of my body, I don’t even wish that on the Orc buddies the NORKS.

Russian drones kill 2 and injure 17 in Odesa as Ukraine destroys helicopters in Crimea – KXAN Austin

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russian drones struck the southern Ukrainian port city of Odesa overnight, killing two people and injuring at least 17, Ukrainian authorities said on Saturday. Meanwhile, three attack helicopters and an anti-aircraft missile system were destroyed in the Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula.

Ukraine’s Security Service agency deployed special drones to attack the Kirovske military airfield, a Ukrainian security official said on Saturday.

“Available data indicate the destruction of multi-purpose and attack helicopters Mi-8, Mi-26 and Mi-28, as well as the self-propelled anti-aircraft missile and gun complex Pantsir-S1,” according to the official, who spoke about the operation on condition of anonymity.

In Odesa, a drone slammed into a residential tower block in the city, causing damage to three floors and trapping residents, emergency services said. The two killed in the attack were a married couple, according to regional Gov. Oleh Kiper, who added that three children were among the injured.

After the slo-mo of the rocket matriculating on through the vehicle cabin, the last thing I expected to see was humans evacuating said cabin.  Probably couldn’t see or hear, and had every pain sensor in their possession turned to 11.

I would be shocked if this was not the eventual outcome.  Adrenaline is a hell of a drug.

True, but man.... pulling a Dr Strangelove on that missile would have been a far better way to go.
