Haven't been in a minute, but Cuanto's is legit.

Congrats, Cuantos Tacos 🎉 The food truck on East 12th Street was named the best taco spot in Texas in a new Yelp ranking. Have you given them a visit? https://t.co/3yvO1OgaEb

Cuantos is gonna be at ACL Festival this year. Curious how they'll manage the quality there

So is Con Todo. I won't be there, but I'm happy for them to get the exposure.

For $6.50 per taco it better be godly.

Ha! My friend was buying and I had already had a carnitas and 2 barbacoa when I said "these are excellent, I think I'm going to get another one!"  She was like, go ahead, they're cheap, and I was very much WTF?  They're expensive af!  But, she's bougie and thinks that kind of lunch is cheap.

But yeah - they're really good.

have you been to de nada? it's extremely gringo.

Sigh. That checks out. My wife was just telling me about this new taco place her friends were raving about, we have to try it. Yeah, it’s De Nada. Who are the friends? White girls from spin class.

Ah well, okay then. Consider my strange upper/lower case typing in mockery retracted.

Anyway, I'm still down to try some tasty barbacoa.  Even if it's $6.50.

Yeah I made the mistake of looking at the address and assuming it was a local taqueria type place.

In other totally unrelated news, I'm about 15-20 years behind in following Austin's development and gentrification...

Same person that owns Sawyer & Co owns De Nada. And it may be gringo, but it's damn good. As are their mezcal drinks.

Pics?

They’re all in their 50s+. But, there IS this one redhead….

Anyway, tonight, we hit Arturo’s at Lamar and Braker. Man, we might as well have been in CDMX. Al pastor from the trompo, plus a barbacoa and a lengua.

they were only doing the trompo on weekends but lately i've seen it there all the time. i've had mostly good experiences there but a couple times the meat has been extremely dry.

I think y'all need to back off the gringo accusations, this place looks legit:

Eye rolling goes here. Wife REALLY wanted to try it. Daughter got in from London this afternoon, so of course wanted Mexican food. Ok, we’re going.
We drive up. On Saturday night. Jesus Mexicano Christ…there must have been 200 people there, every one of them ripped out of a hipster/hang out at breweries stereotype. We didn’t even park.
We ended up at Maudie’s, which was great. Tio Chon FTW.
