Did you go to the one close to Beijing?

Psst: it's the same wall.

Spoiler

Just messing with you. Yes the closest tourist section is much more crowded!

Yes, the Badaling area.  The one you can tour from a hotel in Beijing in the morning, have lunch then tour the Ming tombs in the afternoon.  The Great Wall in China is like the Grand Canyon in the US, every Chinese should go see it.  Most of them were there the same day I was coincidentally.

How in the blue fuck did this thread go for two pages on surly, without someone telling him “don’t drink the coke, man!”?

I'm in Hong Kong right now. Wow this place is great. Been to a hiking trail, Victoria Peak, and other popular food places and you can really tell that tourism is down. I haven't seen any protests but there are posters and graffiti everywhere. Lots of pro democracy, anti China stuff. There's also tons of anti LeBron James graffiti too. One sign in Mong Kok said "LeBron James pussy ass bitch"

Mom, me, brother….hangin’ out on the Victoria Peak overlook 1958:
