Only I didn't say "Fudge". I said THE word, the big one, the queen mother of dirty words, the "F-dash-dash-dash" word!

Lifebouy...yech!

In the heat of battle my father wove a tapestry of obscenities that as far as we know is still hanging in space over Lake Michigan.

Look, It's Italian... Fra gi le.

You know, this wine’s not bad...but it’s not good either...

Only one thing in the world could have dragged me away from the soft glow of electric sex gleaming in the window.

It's smiling at me.

I know right.  Talked about scissor kicking after banging Reggie.

Jean Shepherd is just a master of words.  It's quote like this that make the movie so damn memorable yet also so tough to quote (with accuracy)...

We plunged into the cornucopia, quivering with desire and the ecstasy of unbridled avarice.

I think I see Aunt Clara's gift to you right over there. She always sends you such wonderful presents.

Deck the harrs with boughs of horry; fa ra ra, fa ra ra, fa ra ra

If Higbee thinks I'm working one minute past 9:00, he can kiss my foot. Ho ho ho.

One scene I love is when Ralphie is in trouble for dropping the f-bomb.  His mom is on the phone with the mother of the boy Ralphie wrongly accused.  First, they discuss that Ralphie even said "the word".  You can hear the other mom going apeshit.  Then Ralphie's mom says, "Do you know where he learned it?"  Crystal-clear the other mom says, "Probably from his dad".

What did I do, Ma? What did I do?

Over the years I got to be quite a connoisseur of soap.

Scut Farkus!!  What a rotten name!!
Second best movie character name evah, after Guy Fleegman.

You can put your arms down when you get to school.
