  • I don't know when this came out, it must have been recently, it's my daughter's band, she's the drummer (and sometimes she's on guitar/vocals).  They mine that realm of 90's grunge-punk like Hole, Nir

Some angry death metal with a bit of groove out of a young band from Denmark. This is going in the gym rotation. Debut album out today.

i was today years old when i learned about Impellitteri.

i like

I was thinking of starting a youtube channel to talk about metal/rock music in during the 70s, 80s, early 90s. Long form discussion of albums (one week it could be Number of the Beast and the next week could be something hair metal like Pyromania). Anyone interested in not making money and just talking about music?

Knocked Loose shouldn't win it, whether the committee knows them or not.

100% agree. They are not metal and that is ok.

anyone heading to CATI tomorrow for Devastation on the Nation? I am beyond excited to see Fulci live.

also, I'll very likely have an extra ticket so if anyone is interested DM me and I'll get your name on the will call.

man, Fulci kicks ass. They are tight as hell live, which isn't surprising. see them next time they're in your town

Metal is a catch all for anything harder than Spoon.

Checking them out for the first time now, after Nate Garrett listed their newest release in his top 10 of this year.  Pretty cool. I'm not a big slam/broootal death fan, and I was thinking Fulci would be more of that ilk.  It's just different enough to keep my attention.

what? my opinion isn't good enough for you? :P

Coroner is playing Atlanta on March 20. My avatar and I are celebrating.

Well this is fun.  Drummer in the first video looks like the blonde villain from Die Hard.

Is Chat Pile up for worst metal band name?

no, that honor goes to Acidic Vaginal Liquid Explosion Generated by Mass Amounts of Filthy Fecal Fisting and Sadistic Septic Syphilic Sodomy Inside the Infected Maggot Infested Womb of a Molested Nun Dying Under the Roof of a Burning Church While a Priest Watches and Ejaculates in Immense Perverse Pleasure Over His First Fresh Fetus

I mean, that sounds pretty fucking metal to me.

I've been listening to a lot of Crowbar. They never disappoint.

I know I'm late to this party, even after the Olympic badassery, but Gojira finally made it's way to my Pandora mix and their shit fucking rocks.

This is an all-time song for me. And a really cool video.

See them live if you can and get up close. Punishing. Awesome. I’ve seen them thrice and I’ll do it again.

I checked out Fulci and they sound a lot like Dethklok without the silliness. That’s a compliment.

^^ Hatebeak guy died a few months ago, I think. No word on the parrot.

I still listen to Powermad fairly frequently.  Oddly, that Absolute Power CD was in every bargain bin in the country.  I remember Waterloo must have had 5 of those in stock at any point in 1990.

Nothing has been keeping my interest the past two months with new stuff except this 3 song piece from a split that Tribal Gaze did, it's good shit.

I know you're being funny, but they were Eskimo for 90% of their career

Least shocking winner of all-time at the Grammy’s. Won today for Best Metal Performance

I have no problem with that. Not surprising, but justified. It's a badass song and performance.

I can't lie, I got a little teary-eyed when they appeared in the opening ceremonies. that was seriously one of the cooler, if not the coolest, international advertisement for metal. we finally had our day.

That's awesome. To be able to be in UK for that show would be magical.

Was fortunate enough to see Black Sabbath at Ozzfest when they first reunited back in 97 or 98. Also saw Pantera the year before. Good times.

yeah even though it's gonna be short sets with partial lineups, bad vocals, etc...still, probably the greatest metal concert of all time.

Can't believe this album turns 20 this year. One of the best front-to-back death metal albums of all time. Complete and perfect, which is why the band never made another.

Co-sign. Bolt Thrower always delivers. Whenever it comes up in my rotation, it inevitably leads to volume going up.

Another one. Took me a second. First minute and a half is a kind of gimmicky rockabilly number that just ain't my thing. 2nd half is epic. I really enjoy this band. Looking forward to the new album. March 21.

Halestorm in the Midlands? Awesome!

Sabbath sold out. I forgot about it. Supposedly was not cheap anyway. Would have been a fun show though.

These dudes fucking rule.

Lacuna Coil's latest album has some good stuff. "Scarecrow" has Scabbia doing some great high notes, and I like the last track on the album.

They're still slamming the limiter with the mixes like it was 20 years ago still, though, so it's tiring and dull to hear after a while. And the band outside of Scabbia is pretty mid, though I like their harmonies. You know, that's why she's so short; from carrying that whole band for all these years...

They got an appearance from Randy Blythe on a track. I know this because I read the liner notes, not because I can tell one guy's death growl from another. On that note, Lamb of God is exactly the kind of band I'd love if I'd been paying any kind of attention to anything outside of career and family between 2000-2010. I need to do a deep dive into their catalog.
