  • I don't know when this came out, it must have been recently, it's my daughter's band, she's the drummer (and sometimes she's on guitar/vocals).  They mine that realm of 90's grunge-punk like Hole, Nir

Some angry death metal with a bit of groove out of a young band from Denmark. This is going in the gym rotation. Debut album out today.

One of you d-bags turned me onto Spirit Adrift, for which I will be forever grateful. These guys are incredible. New single out now, with full album in October.

Not following you. I got a broken link to the new Mastodon song.

Ok so what is Sun and Emperor?

Once More Round the Sun and Emperor of Sand?

I think we’re in different wavelengths here.

Yeah for sure. Sorry for the brain farts.

Those albums have some good tracks, but it’s been increasingly downhill since Crack the Skye.

I know the drummer, he is the singer/guitar of Mammoth Grinder. Haven't really talked to him in years though.

Shit, seriously? Dammit. That guy was fucking awesome. Power Trip was my favorite new band from the past couple of years. Fuck.

Decided to go back and listen to this album seeing as how I haven't listened to it in over a decade. Kiss really nailed the heavier sound, this is one of those albums a lot of people are unaware it exists, it's so underrated. Chris Jericho played one of the songs form it on the Rock of Jericho, I had nearly forgotten about it.

They've been doing a ton a good covers lately, I guess it's too hard to do the show atm.

Not sure why the full album isn't on youtube yet, but it's badass.

Also new Uada is dope as fuck too.

This SpirtWorld album is by far my favorite 2020 release.  I posted a track up thread, but here are a couple others.  No fillers on this album, all song kick much ass.

Also posted this in the "listening right now" thread.

Fresh out of the mailbox from 20 Buck Spin.  The Chronicle just did an article on Nate as well.  I hope that his new Texas home treats him well.

Goddamn, that is fucking great. I miss live metal shows so much -- watching this video I can smell the beer and sweat, feel the bass in my chest, hear my ears ring...badass, thanks for posting.

Fuck yeah, all of this. Good shit.

Here's a few more albums that recently dropped that have been kicking my ass.

Looks pretty good for a 211 year old.

Always down with Devildriver.

Yep.  One of my favorites right here.

Love me some metalcore.

The new album is going to be pretty good.

I may have posted this before, but it's one of my absolute favorites from this band, among many.

RIP Dimebag.  August 20, 1966 – December 8, 2004

I was studying for finals the next day when this news came through.  I was a wreck the rest of the night and ended up taking way too many caffeine pills and did not do great on the tests.

Solid Danzig cover, with added humor.

Man there’s some fun shit on that playlist. Tool, Primus, and Mastodon playing Rush is almost better than Rush.

It's an EP, it's already out.

I know that.  I heard these didn’t make the new album.  They were all cut from it is the word.  Personally, I think these songs are all much stronger than most of the last album.  Mount of Execution is an unreal song though!

I have a huge spot for female fronted metal, especially talented bands. I've been a fan of Courtney & Mike since iwrestledabearonce. Their new stuff is heavy, fairly dark, and atmospheric.

I think they might take off soon, especially with me being superliminal with them

Went down the YouTube rabbit hole on them and found this:

Love Bea.

Here's something fun. A little bit of Death 'N Roll from the former frontman of Kvelertak. Features a guest appearance from Matt Pike of High on Fire.
