Mastodon is kickass. You’re not allowed to not like Mastodon. It’s a rule.

  • I don't know when this came out, it must have been recently, it's my daughter's band, she's the drummer (and sometimes she's on guitar/vocals).  They mine that realm of 90's grunge-punk like Hole, Nir

Some angry death metal with a bit of groove out of a young band from Denmark. This is going in the gym rotation. Debut album out today.

Courtney LaPlante is not of this earth. She’s some sort of metal goddess.

new Waking the Cadaver album is the fucking tits. for any fans of extreme metal that likely (and for good reason) passed them over in the past, give them another try

It's an experimental melodic track for them like Lamb of God did with The Duke, the rest of the album is the typical death metal you'd expect from Whitechapel.

Gotcha.  Noticed there were some clean vocals in the first one you posted here as well.  There were none when I saw them on the tour that had uh "saw is the law" as their big hit.

And some good stuff from India.  Bandcamp's 'best of the month' delivering this month.

PSA: Exhorder playing this album all the way through as well as Extinction A.D. and Plague Years who I think I linked in this thread a while back tonight in Austin.

To keep the trend going, new Gutalax has some bangers.

Wow.  That could not be more in my wheelhouse.  Especially Malignance.  Just pure thrash.  Merry xmas and thank you.

I’m trying my best to wanna go to San Antonio on a Tuesday. That showed is fucking stacked, feb 1st.

Both their albums are great.

This is in reference to Enforced, tapa fail all xmas.

I've been digging the new Code Orange, the vocals loosely remind me of Rob Flynn from Machinehead.

Wow that’s legit

Ugh. That sounds like pretty generic 2000s nu metal and not the crazy edgy stuff I like from Code Orange. I hope they aren’t trying to appeal to the Knotfest crowds they played for last year.

Dig Reba’s red latex though.

Yeah, they are a way different sound from 10 years ago, but still better than 99% of the shit I hear.

Same!  My birthday is right around that time so I bought a couple and will probably go with a friend.  My wife does not get it but she would go to support me.

Going backwards a bit so I don't repost too much, lol.  Their album made a lot of top 10 for 2021 lists.

I gave it a listen, and the muscianship is top notch.  But somehow the vocals always trying to go along with the drums (seemingly) somewhat bothers me.  Not downing it.  The drums/bass alone make it worth a few listens for sure.

yeah, the vocals are certainly an acquired taste. but I also like pig squeals, so maybe don't ask me. 🤣

Lol.

I've been enjoying some stuff from this site:

https://www.angrymetalguy.com/angrymetalguy-coms-aggregated-top-10-of-2021/

I was reading a bunch of their individual lists and noticed Archspire showing up a lot.  When they did the aggregated version it wound up number one.

I get confused but I believe it much of what Longhorn_Fan68 posts.  He's the reason I posted the video as I thought he'd find it funny.

Hah, it's been around since the 90s at least, basically brutal death metal.

Old school Suffocation fits the bill.  They do get into the tech area too.

Sounds like a fun bill.  This band should join it:
