New Fetus! Fuck yeah. Didn't much care for "Wrong One to Fuck With", especially after what I consider their best album in "Reign Supreme." I like what this is offering. Hoping the rest is this good.

also, John Gallagher with hair is fucking weird

  • I don't know when this came out, it must have been recently, it's my daughter's band, she's the drummer (and sometimes she's on guitar/vocals).  They mine that realm of 90's grunge-punk like Hole, Nir

Some angry death metal with a bit of groove out of a young band from Denmark. This is going in the gym rotation. Debut album out today.

The new Megadeth album might be really good. I don’t know how Mustaine continues to do it.

Going to see them tonight.

Spiritbox/Mastodon/Ghost was great tonight. My fourth Ghost show, second Spiritbox show, lost count how many Mastodon shows. It was my 13 year old son’s first concert. Great stuff.

Ok, so went to Rammstein in San Antonio.  That was hella good.  I was in the feuer zone, the heat was real.

Saw Maiden over the weekend in Denver. They were good, but not great. Bruce sang like a champ for 90% of the show, then had a tougher time with "Aces High,' which they should have opened with. Nicko's also not hitting as hard, but he's what, almost 70?

discovered these guys over the weekend. have probably listend to this ep a half dozen times since

That's like half good, half terrible.

also, Jerry Cantrell is going to do solo one night and AIC the next? is there really a difference anymore?

I nominate Wargasm for best band name on the bill, followed closely by Oxymorrons.

I’m excited for both halves. Never seen Meshuggah or In Flames, and looking forward to how ridiculous In This Moment should be.

I had planned for Spiritbox to be my first band today but duty calls.

I saw them open for Down in May.  New singer is from Corpus Christi.  Didn’t play their biggest hit which I thought was strange.  6/10.

People watching was epic, although a negative side effect of the enfattening of America is that a lot of the trashy rock chicks are now trashy fat rock chicks.

Saw Highly Suspect, Apocalyptica, Halestorm, Evanescence, Ministry, Bring Me the Horizon, Tenacious D, and NIN today. I don’t know how NIN hasn’t lost a step in 30 years.

Agree re: trashy fat rock chicks.  Also agree re: NIN.  Saw them 4-ish years ago and he fucking killed it.

The Wargasm I know was a pretty good thrash band from Boston. I'm assuming this isn't the same outfit.

I'm definitely familiar with Metal Archives. I'm also pretty sure the band playing this festival is not the one from Boston, rather a UK group that I discovered 5 minutes ago via Google. I would love to be wrong, however

In Flames: great
Clutch: awesome
In This Moment: take themselves Very Seriously
Crown the Empire: OK
Mastodon: love
Baroness: First time seeing them and they killed it. Gina is the shit.
GWAR: funny and terrible
Meshuggah: Maybe the most brootal band I’ve ever seen. Bill and Troy from Mastodon were stage-side.
Slipknot: was Slipknot

keep em coming

Yeah, when you get into the grooves while watching Meshuggah live, it slaps dirty.

Sunday was the rock day. Nothing really heavy to speak of. But the headliners were all great.

I got as close as I could. It was punishing.

Who?

I might have already posted this one and i don't care because the Horns won and drunkb and high and metal forever. But if this doesn't melt your face fuck you. I love you anyway

Spiritbox hinted on Twitch that they'd be doing a headline tour relatively soon. Enough of this 30 minute bullshit.

Forgot to mention I went to Mercyful Fate in Dallas last week. It was spectacular.

I saw them in a club in suburban DC in 1997. They were not spectacular. However, I'm expecting a much better performance in 2 weeks on the last show of the tour in Atlanta.

I know I've posted this before but it just popped up again and I felt the need to reshare. cheers

I saw them at Psycho Las Vegas in August and again outside Sacramento last week. Incedible show.

Has anyone caught the WASP/ Armored Saint tour yet?

Got to see Obituary play that song live, as well as Cattle Decapitation play their new song live too in SA.

I got tix for Atlanta, even though I don’t like their most recent stuff as much.

I was coming to post this.  Definitely my favorite metal band in the last few years.  They are good friends of one of my buddy's and played a benefit show for his wife who has cancer.  Good dudes and really great metal.

This is one of my favorite tracks from the album:

Apparently I listened to 29 different genres and 1092 different artists. holy shit. I know artists don't make shit on spotify but for someone who is always seeking new shit, it's a pretty invaluable resource.

Honestly, I prefer Pandora for finding new music, as I think their algorithm is way better.  But different strokes I guess.

I used pandora forever and then they started feeding me all the same shit. would be willing to try it again, but at this point I see little reason to go back

Haha, youtube channels are how I find new music.  Bangertv, thrallsofmetal, finn McKenty, etc.
