  • I don't know when this came out, it must have been recently, it's my daughter's band, she's the drummer (and sometimes she's on guitar/vocals).  They mine that realm of 90's grunge-punk like Hole, Nir

Some angry death metal with a bit of groove out of a young band from Denmark. This is going in the gym rotation. Debut album out today.

Iggy Pop gives everyone the finger when he performs and everyone rightfully loves it. = Punk rock.

Axl Rose gives everyone the finger and people rightfully hate him. = Dipshit.

Pretty interesting idea I think.  It may have been posted here already, but it started with Will Ramos from Lorna Shore.

Now they want to study the throats of folks like Tatiana Shmayluk (Jinjer) and Mark Garrett (Kardashev).

Seeing them for the fourth time in a couple weeks with Gojira and Korn. Might leave after Gojira.

Spiritbox and Gojira were great. Had to leave before Korn for work calls. 👎🏼

My buddy dropped his two oldest off at Slipknot in phx yesterday.  I looked at the setlist and wtf? I have a giant list of Spotify favorites for the gym and many from them and they didn't play a single one of them our of 14 songs...don't know how many were on the bill but I would have been pissed as hell if I went and got that setlist

Yeah I know like four of those songs and I’m decently versed on slipknot. I may have free tickets to the Austin show tomorrow, but this might sway me to turn them down.

"Hey guys, thanks for coming out. We're going to change it up a bit tonight. Instead of doing songs you know, we're going to do all deep tracks, unreleased rehearsal riffs, and a bunch of our Billy Joel favorites"

It's the 25th anniversary of their self-titled debut album. They're basically playing the full album at their shows on this tour with a handful of randoms thrown in.

I went to a Sting show like that once. He has a massive catalog of hits and didn’t play them. “Here’s a song about my dad that I’ve never played.”

Y'all had me rolling reading the missed posts. The full album shows are pretty damn cool, but yeah if you didn't know.  And dude, you gotta listen to the self titled and Iowa if you list out everything but them.

Max Cavalera and Igor Cavalera playing Beneath the Remains/Arise is in my top 10 shows ever.

I have, like iowa better but prefer mid to later stuff

Me and some friends got Hells Heroes tickets for 25'.

May be a graphic of text+

Sodom was awesome last March.

Sodom is badass live, but I'm not seeing them on the bill. Goatwhore is always fun. Would be cool to see Cavalera. I was a little too young for the halcyon days of Sepultura. Don't really recognize anyone else except Absu from Dallas and then Hirax - they're a choice. I like all the classic sets - lets you know you're seeing old farts play. Heh.

Sodom was a headliner last year, sorry for the confusion.

I know this is contentious, but it IS heavy & I like the chorus. Her complete batshit insanity notwithstanding.

Don’t know who she is, but looks like she could show you a good time.

New album from Black Dahlia Murder, first since Trevor died. Good shit. Brandon Ellis might be the most technically proficient shredder in death metal.

Saw them play all of Beneath the Remains at the Back Room in 1990 or 1991.

was cleaning up some old drives and came across a cache of old mp3's. funny how black my taste was in the mid 2000's. anyway, this is from before that, but I first heard it then. crunchy old goodness

Saw them in LA on the Leviathan Tour. Such a fucking epic show. I think they covered a Melvins song, too.

  • 2 weeks later...

Ghost announces a huge international tour this Spring and Summer.

https://metalinjection.net/tour-dates/ghost-announces-world-tour-seems-to-be-teasing-new-material

Final stops are in Austin 8/14 (Moody Center), Fort Worth 8/15 (Dickies Arena), and Houston 8/16 (Toyota Center).

I'm definitely planning on going to the Houston show. Been wanting to see them live for a long time.

Saw Testament (awesome) and Kreator (meh...too many "made for singalongs at Wacken" tunes), as well as Opeth (mega-awesome) over the last couple of weeks. "Legacy" (pun intended) bands still sort of going strong.

Didn't know where to put this, so....  F'ing jam.

Looks like Spiritbox is up for the Grammy again, this time with Cellar Door. They're going against Gojira and Knocked Loose, but of course, Metallica will win it again.

Was Jethro Tull not nominated this time?

Metallica will win most likely. Or they may give it to Gojira, to prove that they're hip and with-it, never mind the fact that Gojira has been around for 30 years. The only reason why the Grammys know anything about them is because they played at the Olympics.

There is no way in hell that Knocked Loose is winning.
