Don't care too much for Volbeat. Love Volbeat or hate them they bring it live, I've seen them twice. The 2nd time a massive fight broke out in the pit so bad that they quit playing momentarily haha, never would've expected that at a Volbeat show.

Sad man's tongue, Maybellene I Hofteholder, Heaven nor hell and Lola Montez are some good songs to check out if you haven't heard much of them and would be willing to give them a shot. Their cover of My Body by Young the Giant was pretty good too. Edited March 5, 20196 yr by Chad
March 13, 20196 yr Holy crap. I just started checking out Peter Steele's old band Carnivore. This is awesome, and quite humorous as well
March 15, 20196 yr I will still say that Mudvayne's first album was pretty awesome. Not so much anything else.
March 24, 20196 yr Brutality? I had no idea that band was active again. Excuse me while I do some research!
April 1, 20196 yr Periphery 4 started to leak ahead of its release this week, so they said “fuck it” and threw the whole thing on YouTube themselves. Whole album: The third track, CHVRCH BVRNER, has momentary shades of Dillinger Escape Plan and is pure fucking brutality.

I personally started a thread saying that Rust in Peace is better, on the whole, than any other single whole album Metallica ever did. But I wouldn't put any of their individual songs above "Master of Puppets," and I think a favorite songs compilation of Metallica will be much longer than that of Megadeth. But I'm weird, since I really liked about half the songs on Load. (The rest were boring garbage, a harbinger of what was to come.) As for now, both are living off of past greatness. Metallica has the shame of St. Anger, Megadeth has weird politics and that godawful stunt Mustaine pulled with the SD Symphony.
April 1, 20196 yr But anyway, I didn't come here to chime in on a month-old troll, I came here to discuss Devin Townsend's Empath. And this is my favorite off the album: I really like it so far, more than anything he's done since Deconstruction. It has that album's bombast and overdone production, but more of the spirit of Ghost.

Solid performance, but a band from Dallas called Steel Bearing Hand completely ruled the night. I'd never heard them before, and I highly recommend them if you're into an unholy mix of death and thrash. Brutality was cool, but they went on super late and only played 8 or so songs.
April 2, 20196 yr What Coroner should I check out? I enjoyed "Internal Conflicts" though Im sure thats not what most people would call classic for them.
April 2, 20196 yr Anyone going to the aborted show tomorrow night? Pretty badass lineup. Stoked to see Benighted playI'll be the guy with long hair if you want to find me

April 3, 20196 yr Dang, Khemmis and Cloak are touring together this summer but they ain't going anywhere near Texas. That would have been a damn good bill.

April 4, 20196 yr I miss Austin. So much outstanding live music. The Red Eye Fly and Beerland had many wonderful small shows with various local and touring death metal bands. Even Bull MCCabes would have bands. And the alley between Red Eye Fly and Beerland is legendary. https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/east-7th-st-alley-posing-problems-for-businesses-police/994959544

April 9, 20196 yr The bathrooms at any bar on sixth st are terrible. Music venues generally have the worst. Might be better off using the alley....its not just the homeless people doing that .
April 12, 20196 yr Eh, I'm kinda meh on AILD's new stuff so far. Two songs only, but still. Seems a bit formulaic or sterile or something compared to their old stuff.
April 15, 20196 yr The new I Prevail album is much better than the first. Edited April 15, 20196 yr by Chad
April 17, 20196 yr Killswitch Engage and Parkway Drive doing a Texas swing this month. I may catch them 5/4 in Atlanta. Always fun live.

April 18, 20196 yr Atlanta, TX? I wouldn't mind catching Parkway Drive. Who is the singer for Killswitch these days?Jesse has been back with them for awhile. He sounds great. Check out tracks three and four on Disarm the Descent. Atlanta is in May after the Texas dates. You probably knew that.

April 18, 20196 yr I celebrate them both, but I think Adam D is one of the best metal riff-writers around.
April 18, 20196 yr Another "blackened metal" band I stumbled upon lately and am digging. Give a listen if you're into bands like Dissection.
April 23, 20196 yr That wormwitch video was cool! I saw dissection back in 96, I can see how a dissection fan would like this
April 25, 20196 yr This album is more modern and a bit commercial. Still dont know what to think of it yet. Edited April 25, 20196 yr by Wyatt Mann
April 25, 20196 yr Allegaeon's new album is nothing but fretboard-melting, technical death metal. If you're into that sort of thing.
