September 9Sep 9 Author Also. I have a bad feeling about this amusement park. Was amazed they built a parking garage for it. I predict it ends up as some Chernobyl type place. But maybe I’m wrong

But maybe I’m wrong I've thought it was bizarre from the beginning. I have an idea if Epstein and company want to make more money at a racetrack-- how 'bout, hold more RACES??? Also, PROMOTE those races??? Just spit-balling here.

Just focus on having the best racing facility you can, with as much great racing as you can host, with the best racing fan experience possible, and sit back and watch all that money flow in. It's not rocket surgery.
September 10Sep 10 Text from a friend a little while ago ... " You know, a few months ago someone told me that Epstein wants to turn COTA into a Gaylord-type property. Bless his heart ... "
September 11Sep 11 Author I’m all for a another golf course in the area but I imagine this will be overpriced with no trees
September 25Sep 25 Author So is it going to be permanent to not be able to walk from the main entrance to the main grandstand area? Annoying if so. That has screwed me the last few times I’ve been out there

That has screwed me the last few times I’ve been out there Yeah I walk that stretch all the time from my turn 15 seats to my friends' main grandstand seats and the Velocity Lounge. Having to walk the bridge to the infield and taking the tunnel takes a little longer. Edited September 26Sep 26 by utee94

October 18Oct 18 Shade would be nice for sure. The profit off the food cut they're taking could plant a forest. $48 for three lemonades. Ok. But I gotta say it's been fun for not knowing anything about F1, other than what my kids tell me. And the off site parking at Pops today was the tits. Easy in, easy out (that's what she said) and right across the street. Still absurd but cheaper than Cota's bullshit parking.
October 18Oct 18 It was the hottest sporting event I’ve ever been to. Way less shade and seating than Singapore. If Singapore is an 8 out of 10 for the event, i thought COTA was a 3. They should get smaller screens also. 50 inch Jumbotrons are just too big…

Yeah ...and the city council put it in writing before the place was built that they had to plant something like 2 or 3000 trees. They just said "OK", then never did it, in true Bobby Epstein style. Where is Pop's? I'm always looking for good parking alternatives on the off chance that I might actually wanna go out there again someday. 4 hours ago, Fastbreak said: It was the hottest sporting event I’ve ever been to. The hottest sporting event I ever attended was WEC a few years ago, even though it was only like 95. The problem is that you're out there for hours with nowhere to take a break from the sun. It's brutal. Ant Davidson drove in the race, and said it was by far the hottest experience he's ever had in a race car. He's also driven in Singapore, Bahrain, etc ... And fuck yeah ... with the monitors being so far away across the track as they are, they're way too small to use to actually try to follow what's happening. Can't read the graphics. October 19Oct 19 It’s always been ok in the main grandstand with the velocity lounge to go hang out in.

Austrian and Hungarian GP were like that for me. Not seeing shit like that again unless its from a box.

October 19Oct 19 Weather today is great. What isn't great is COTA website saying "Gates open at 10", so we hang in the parking lot until 9 while 10,000 people are walking in. Because, spoiler alert, gates didn't open at 10.

It's amazing how often they completely fuck up such basic race info comms.
October 20Oct 20 I've been to basically every big sporting event in this country at least. That's just a truly poorly run event. I'll give credit for at least the number of concessions. The layout and systems to move that many people around the track are severely lacking. Video screens need to be twice as big. No trash cans or railings in walk ways please. Also need 3x as many bridges. The infrastructure from the city as far as the roads is nonexistent. I'm glad I went but agree that it's a much better event on tv.
October 20Oct 20 The entertainment was also shit. Singapore had the Foo Fighters, Elton John, Lewis Capaldi, Crowded House, Alan Walker, G dragon plus plus Austin has Garth Brooks only
October 21Oct 21 I mean, a gondola to the pits? Why not a monorail? Unless they've acquired some of the neighboring property, that building would have to have a seriously narrow footprint, given how little room there is behind that runoff.
December 18Dec 18 Welp ... that didn't take long. 2 people rescued after getting trapped on COTA roller coaster https://www.kvue.com/article/news/local/2-people-stuck-on-cota-roller-coaster-circuit-breaker-travis-county/269-8f89a0f7-fd5b-4dd9-a625-70d5b7742bf0 ETA: According to the reddit thread, they were stuck there for 4.5 hours.
