These boys just can’t get enough…

Very early days photo, probably 1980. Vince Clarke left after the first album release.

That they looked so solidly punk is what throws a lot off.

Imagine how The Beatles would have turned out if Sutcliffe hadn't quit and McCartney hadn't put the guitar down and taken over on bass.  I doubt it would have been as good, McCartney is a master on the instrument.

Of course, he's a master on every instrument.

Reminds me, I've wanted to watch the movie Backbeat for years.  Saw it when it came out but literally cannot find it streaming anywhere.

Ringo joined the Beatles exactly 59 years ago yesterday. Saw that on a facebook thing.

I actually have it on VHS tape, one of the few I never donated or threw away. I've kinda wanted to see it again, too.

Cross post from RIP Charlie watts but too awesome not to post CE108806-F730-4385-B867-837E55614A37.jpeg.8c555536d2cdd52c56804d545dd8a154.jpeg

I don't know if there's another performer who's stage persona is so different than his real life.

This. My inlaws lived in Arizona and he'd be at their local golf course consistently. Just a normal guy at the end of the bar talking about the putts he missed.

See him around town from time to time. Met him a couple of times. Seemed like a nice normal guy to me which matches what I’ve heard others say.

I’m going to say no. Though I see why you see the likeness.

Love this pic of Angus, thinking about having it blown up for my music room.

I dunno, that does look like a young Lou Reed.  He was almost the exact age of Mick Jagger.  And they kinda look like contemporaries.  Bowie would have been significantly younger plus the makeup so harder to gauge.  Nice of Amy Poehler to time travel back to their table though as a 1970's groupie.

Because it is. He's talking about the blonde dude in the back.

I just realize young Lou Reed looks like young David Cross with hair and no glasses.

Blonde dude in the back kinda looks like the keboardist from Journey (the original lineup)

David Cross was never young, convince me otherwise.

That's Red Turner on the left, and Tommy Shannon third from left, from Johnny Winter's old band.  Of course, Tommy went on to play with Stevie again in Double Trouble.
