6 nights, yes. Sound like a lot, and it is. Get in on Wed eve, leave Tues late morn.

Wednesday evening will be something for dinner, and about it.

Thursday is pool/cabana day.

Friday an event at 1, dinner at the Strat with some friends.

Sat is a trail ride/dinner.

Sunday is golf, then O.

Monday is a visit to ATM (the fish shop from Tanked), and a wander around the strip doing shit like the shark reef, gondola ride, etc.

So it was worth it.  We did two choppers and threw extra girls on a party bus. It was 2 hrs each way.  Chopper worth it.  Here’s a pic of the party bus at 9am.

I can’t imagine spending 6 days in Vegas.  Get in late Thursday, fly home Sunday afternoon.  Rinse.  Repeat.

Some of my most painful moments in life have been on Sunday morning at McCarran.

Nah. It won’t be that bad. Busy, yes. But there is lots of down time in there too.

Anyone know how to check what conventions/gatherings are going on in Vegas on a certain weekend (11/4-11/7)?

I know the WSOP is still going on then so some poker rooms will be closed, but I'd like to be able to guage crowds and it would also be nice to know if Mary Kay or something like that was in town.

The convention business in Vegas is still a small fraction of 2019. Don’t worry about “those” crowds.

I did 4 days in Vegas once and almost died. Problem is I can’t not drink in Vegas.

This ^ I guess if you treat it like any normal vacation (stick to relaxing stuff like sightseeing, dining, shopping, golfing, laying by the pool, etc) then 6 days would be pretty doable. The question then is, why in god's name would you choose Vegas for a trip like that? I guess I've never tied it, so who knows, but I can think of a ton of better places for that type of "relaxing" trip. But yeah, doing Vegas the way I've always done it, and how I imagine most people do it, and how it was clearly intended to be done (balls to the wall, excess is best, booze-filled overindulgence of strippers and cocaine)...6 days would be fucking brutal.

Every trip to Vegas is really this no matter how you dress it up.

Would take some serious discipline for it not to be…at least for me. But then I’m sure I’d spend the whole time asking myself why the hell I’m trying to do Vegas with discipline.

Y'all, he's just messing with us. NO ONE does Vegas for 6 days unless they live there. NO ONE.

I did a month in Vegas one weekend.

Buncha lightweights in this thread.  I don't bother doing Vegas unless it's at least 4 nights.  Have done full weeks many times and never left The Strip.

For many years, my trips averaged a week to 10 days. But I had access to a sweet condo two blocks off the Strip. Basically ended up feeling like a local after spending a month in Vegas one year.

I've done 5 nights (twice).  4 nights several times.  I probably could do 6, but that would be the limit.

Then again, if I had fuck you money, I may be able to do 7.

Have a very rich older friend who wanted to go a few years ago but thought it would be more fun with more people. He sent a private plane to pick up me and my wife, then the plane flew to Colorado to fetch him and his wife, and off to Vegas we went. Bought us a huge two BR/ 2 Bath suite overlooking the fountains at Belagio. He stayed somewhere else with his wife. Bought tickets to shows every night and had lunch and dinner reservations at the best places in town for 7 days/6 nights. He paid for all of it. He only asked that we do a happy hour with him every day at 4 p.m. and that were dressed in coats/tie (for me) for every evening when the limo pulled up to pick us up. Was a wild and fun week.  I go back several times a year--but it has never been the same since that trip.

I'm booked for a college football gambling weekend during that target date. Just wanted to let you know that the Canelo Alvarez-Caleb Plant title fight is that Saturday night as well.

That's a badass trip, but I'd take a week to recover from it. Would do it in a heartbeat though.

For those who have been recently, have you noticed the masking taking away from the experience in the casino at all? Are there partitions at the tables? How different is the experience?

I went about a month ago and plan on going again at the end of October. It’s not bad if you don’t mind wearing a mask. There are no partitions, tables are fully open and no distancing mandates. No masks at the pools either. It’s essentially wear a mask if you’re indoors or in a cab/Uber.

Just returned from conference.  Masks not that big of a deal.

Water Grill in Caesar’s was tip-top.

Can confirm, the whole city smells like an old school flop house in south Austin.

Wow.  That is huge.  I usually stay at Bellagio and hit up Cosmo quite a bit.  This will make things easier with both being MLife properties.

Agreed. Only reason I’ve not stayed/played there was that it wasn’t MLife. I dig the location, casino floor and the food options. Definitely will add to my to-do list.

That’s pretty wild. Guess somebody decided there weren’t going to be two idiots in that transaction.

hey guys, long time listener, first time caller.

made about 12 trips (~work) from 2019-march, 2020.  stayed mostly at mgm and caesars.  then covid.  went back in mid june (before the mask mandate) and it almost seemed like normal vegas.  then was there in early august (after mandate), and not only was there a huge dropoff in crowds, but the attitude was so shitty, at least with employees i came in contact with, cab drivers, etc.  also i heard from a couple folks that revenue shot down about 40% the day of the mandate.

some thought another full-scale shutdown was coming, but others told me no chance.  some convention people i spoke to (at caesars forum) said there's a lot of pressure on them because the whole country is looking to vegas for trade show guidance.  meaning if they start shutting down, shows in other cities will have no choice, so they're doing everything they can to keep it going.

the last few have been hybrid in-person/virtual.  they claim 50-50, but it's not.  these are shows i've been to in recent years, and they look way fucking smaller and everything is more spread out, which kinda kills the trade-show-floor vibe.

went back from sept 10-12th for our fantasy football draft - much smaller crew this year, but it was fine.  the prices were out of control when we started looking back in june, but after the mandate, shit started coming down.  there was still some nonsense like 3-4 night minimum at a few spots because the raiders played monday night, but the week of our trip, deals were flying around.

ended up getting comped at the delano from my m-life status (so the cosmo news definitely caught my eye).  i hadn't been to the delano since it was thehotel, but i liked it for what it was.  and after spending plenty of time in different caesars towers, mgm signature, palms place, i can tell you that the delano has the advantage of a short walk down to the casino/sportsbook.  no 12 minute hikes through skytubes and people-movers and other bullshit.  for someone who occasionally will dabble in the upstairs field trip, this made a huge difference.

i also started working on some bourbon connections ahead of time, which paid off.

one of my stops was to wally wines, over at resortsworld, so i got to check it out for a few minutes.  it's nice because it's new, but it felt like a shopping mall.  i'm curious to hear more about the rooms, because they became an option a few days before our trip.

tl;dr - i've been 3x in the past 3 months if anyone has any questions or wanted opinions about anything.  also i played automated craps and felt like a homeless person.

Great description.

Went there in July, walked in, and it just seemed like this long hallway, even with the empty frontage that malls have today. I get that it's not completely filled in yet, but damn...a mall.  Couldn't think of a description at the time, and maybe the rooms are great and whatnot, but it was just meh.

As you are probably aware, RW has three hotels within one resort: Hilton, Conrad, and Crockfords. So they vary but Conrad and Crockfords are the more stylish places to stay with Crockfords the most high end I believe.

I toured the property recently but didn’t get inside the rooms. I hear they recently lowered some prices for the food court. The main bar area is a cool hangout spot with a big stage for live bands and lots of TVs for sports.

The one entrance is a little whacky as it feels like just a big mall, but once inside the casino floor the space is nice. The nightclub Zouk just got going and had big lines to get in.

Yeah, I'm going to a conference next week to see clients and attendance is significantly smaller than usual.  Given lower client turnout, we aren't taking as many people and I would say among clients we typically see it's maybe 1/3 of normal between some institutions/funds cancelling all together and others taking a much smaller contingent.  This is typically in early March (i was last in Vegas for this the week before it all went to hell in '19) and scheduled at it's normal time in '22 so hoping it's back to normal then.  That all being said, anyone have a rec for a "new" restaurant that has opened post-Covid.  Doing Yellowtail at Bellagio 1 night but no plans yet for dinner another night.  I'm pretty familiar with all of the regular spots but just curious if something new that has good reviews since I haven't paid much attention since COVID.
