Aria pools are nice but not crazy and easy walk to the concert.

Thanks.  I like Aria but always stay either there or Cosmo for work conferences.  I'll actually be at Aria 3 for work 3 weeks after this trip.  So was thinking of switching it up.

So it was worth it.  We did two choppers and threw extra girls on a party bus. It was 2 hrs each way.  Chopper worth it.  Here’s a pic of the party bus at 9am.

I’m staying at FB for free right now. I love the room and the casino. Don’t love the distance from everything of course. Eating at Mother Wolf tonight with free dining credit, have heard good things.

Headed out Wed-Sat for a quick trip, staying at Cosmo. Doing Superfrico and Marquee’s “Lowkey” Wed night party. Golf Thurs then dinner at Zuma then private couches at Barbershop. Fri going to grand reopening of Tao Beach, then a suite for Billie Eilish concert, then table at Marquee.

"Quick" is a layover. Wed-Sat would put me in recovery mode for 5-7 days.

Haha I always see that but that feels super short to me too. I have June 24-July 5 on the books currently.

What are current good hotel pools that has a "scene" but not the crazy pool party scene.  I think back in 2015 we stayed at Venetian and they had a separate adults pool that was more our speed with good music but not tons of wasted 20 year olds.

Wynn and Encore adult pools fit your description. Good music, good service, a little more upscale clientele, attractive women, gambling poolside, limited crazy drunk kids (they’ll be at EBC).

If you stay at Wynn you get access to just the Wynn pools. If you stay at Encore you get access to both Encore and Wynn pools.

Formula One is all-in on the United States with a race on the Las Vegas Strip added to the 2023 calendar as the most glamorous motorsports series in the world continues to expand its North American footprint.

The Bellagio, Caesars Palace and the MSG Sphere will be among the landmarks along the temporary street course built for a Saturday night race in November 2023. The race is a first for F1 in that the series will promote the event alongside Liberty Media Corp., the American parent company of F1.

The Las Vegas race will be the third stop in the United States next season for F1, which has raced at Circuit of the America's in Austin, Texas, since 2012 and in May will make its debut in Miami. Barring any shakeups, existing races in Mexico City and Montreal will bring F1 to North America five times next season.

“Iconic Las Vegas and Formula 1, the pinnacle of motorsport, is the perfect marriage of speed and glamour," said Greg Maffei, President and CEO of Liberty Media. "Our confidence in this unique opportunity is evident in our decision to assume the promoter role for the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

"The potential of Formula 1 has been well demonstrated over the last several seasons and the Las Vegas GP will only take it to the next level.”

Speculation surrounding a third race in Las Vegas that utilized the world famous Strip has swirled for more than a year and was at last confirmed Wednesday night in a lavish announcement made at the rooftop pool of The Cosmopolitan Hotel. Liberty acquired F1 in 2017 and has steadily grown the brand in the U.S. through its marketing of the series and the wildly popular Netflix docuseries “Drive to Survive.”

No date was given for the November race, but the Saturday night after Thanksgiving has been discussed. The 50-lap race is expected to stretch a street course that runs 3.8-miles. The circuit revealed Wednesday night included three main straights, 14 corners that includes a high-speed cornering sequence, and a single chicane section.

Track layout looks horrid, but they don't have much choice. Locals will absolutely hate what this does to traffic for a week or two; Singapore's locals rarely had much positive to say about the F1 race there when I spoke to them after year 1.

It's better (and far more visually appealing) than the previous attempt at F1 in Vegas.  And the visuals of racing at night on the strip?  It's gonna be a spectacle. Whether it's a decent race or not is secondary to the F1 folks, the LVCVA, etc.  The Governor said it probably would be half a billion dollar impact for that weekend.

For reference, that's Caesars on the far right hand side.  The track is where Caesars expansion/Forum Shoppes/The Mirage is today:

They missed opportunity to have a jump over the Caesar’s Fountain as part of the circuit.

Had friends that went (local), how was the concert? My wife hates her.

The concert was ok for someone I knew one song going in. Having a suite helped.

Haven’t had much luck with reservations because this was just a last minute deal, any go to Italian red sauce type places that you don’t need a reservation for the this Saturday? Doing Bouchon for early brunch Saturday but have the urge for some non-fancy but legit Americanized Italian.

Piero’s has reservations on Saturday and it’s awesome

A gentleman and a scholar, thanks!

It's on like Donkey Kong!  Saw a guy wearing a Longhorns hat on the flight. Started to yell muledick to see if he was Surly but decided if he was he would be yelling muledick. Plus I didn't want to get kicked off the flight. Sitting in Mirage waiting for the late Beatles show sipping a $16 Tito's. Seriously?

Yeah, I should have dropped a $20 in the video poker before I ordered, then cash out after they served me a comp.

I was in Vegas in December and got a 12 oz Coors Lite in a plastic cup at the Caesars sports book bar for only $14.50, plus tip.  Yeah, no more beers at the casino bar for me that trip.

That's absurd. I paid $8.50 for a cup of drip coffee at Caesars in Jan.

Don’t get me started about the coffee situation. I’m surprised there hasn’t been a nationally covered incident yet.

Wife and I are taking our 22 year old son to Vegas in June. He wants to shoot a .50cal Barrett. I will also shoot somethings I don't normally get to shoot. What is the best range?

YES!

We went to battle field Vegas. I shot the .50 and the mini gun. The .50 is mounted but it’s still awesome to fire. I did one of their machine gun packages and added on the mini and .50. The wife also shot and loved it.

Definitely recommend Speakeasy Barbershop in El Cortez. Excellent straight razor shave.

Since you’ve been there, what consists of the Speakeasy Experience?

That’s pretty much what we’re looking for. Thanks for the rec.

This pains me to hear. Its probably been 4 years since I was in LV last due to the 'rona, but in the late 90's/00's it was cheap as shit to drink in vegas. even if you weren't gambling, you could walk up to any casino bar and get a beer for anywhere from .25 to $2. You could eat and drink for next to nothing in that town, and we would regularly make the trip from the Bay Area to rage. I remember a bar there called the beach that we would hit up at like 2AM or later and always leave well after the sun was up. lot of young drunk pussy and beers were basically free. I get it, you can still rage in Vegas these days, but the cost is like 10-20X. And TBH, if the beach was still open, its not likely I'd be there with my crew. We'd be the next Dr Rick Progressive commercial.
