Pick 10 famous folks that you think (or hope) will kick it before the end of 2018.
Points are 100-age at death.
At least 1 of your picks must be under the age of 40 (as of 1/1/2019)
"Bonus" opportunity - if one of your picks dies between the time you post your picks and midnight 12/31/2018 - then you get to make a replacement pick (no later than 1/7/19) and you get to one pick one additional person

Winner gets a Best Buy discount code, Derka's 2nd beer at Surly HH, + rep from at least 3 posters.

Here are my picks:
Joseph Ratzinger (aka Pope Emeritus) - 4/16/27 - age 91
Orenthal (OJ Simpson) - 7/9/47 - age 71
Elon Musk - 6/28/71 - age 47
Larry Nassar - 8/16/63 - age 55
Kathy Lee Gifford - 8/16/53 - age 65
Queen Elizabeth II - 4/21/26 - age 92
Jimmy Carter - 10/1/24 - age 94
Sandra Day O'Connor - 3/26/30 - age 88
Jim Kelly - 4/14/60 - age 58
Pete Davidson - 11/16/93 - age 25

Source of DOB & age - Wikipedia (also a good way to determine if someone is famous, cuz if they don't have a wiki page then you might get protests)

Strong call on Pete Davidson....I've always felt though on these that you must include a pro wrestler, a rapper, and one member of the '85 Bears.

William "the refrigerator" Perry

Ric Flair

Slim Thug

Bob Dole

Bob Dylan

Berry Gordy

Kris Kristofferson

Does the person who dies before midnight December 31 count towards the 2019 score? Or just replacement and bonus selection?

Disagree. That means C Struggs and Cutthroat Chip-O are scratches for 2018. These lists should be posted as soon as possible if a pooler wants to take advantage of the bonus selection. Someone questions celebrity status? More than enough time to discuss. Burden of proof for age is on the pooler.

Mick Jagger and not Keith Richards?  They are both 76 in 2019.  Wait...never mind.  You are correct.  Keith Richards was a cockroach in an earlier life...he'll never die...

If Ms. De Havilland kicks the bucket before 2019, then I'll replace her with Johnny Fucking Football. 26.

I don't believe it is allowed within the rules anywhere to put Willie on the list ever.

PS: Same goes for Earl.  There are just some things you don't do.

You are not understanding my question.

No. According to the rules, if Olivia kicks the bucket in 2018, you will choose a replacement and a bonus selection. So Johnny Fucking Football Manziel as replacement and another for the bonus.

My question: OdH has a point value of -2. If Olivia dies before 2019, does the -2 carry into 2019?

I think it should because a person choosing someone with a negative point value is obviously looking for a sudden death and the bonus. Interesting strategy; however, if Livvy lives into the next year .... well, let's look at the bright side. Maybe she will be administered an overdose or choke on a ham sandwich within the next thirteen days. You're still down by -2 but you have an extra player on your team!

As far as I am concerned, the current score is Stoogey, 0 and Walden, -2.

Demi Lovato (26)

Bob Barker (95)

Val Kilmer (58)

Jack Nicholson (81)

Joni Mitchell (75)

Randy Travis (59)

Bob Dole (95)

6ix9ine (22)

Teri Garr (74)

Liza Minnelli (72)

Pretty sure Macauly is clean, and other than that you picked a bunch of old as dirt motherfuckers. Do you get how the scoring works?

Why are some picking Pete Davidson?

Lazy fucks just want the easy win and big points/under 40. HE might not make it until 12/31, so bonus pick instead?

If your under 40 dies in 2018, does your replacement have to be under 40 too?

I don't think Pete Davidson is going to kill himself but I honestly don't give a shit either way. Dude is famous for no fucking reason.

Does that make me a bad person? Probably.

I think that's called a tontine and I think it's illegal.

Not that I wouldn't be in favor of a Surly tontine.

You can start a thread picking Surly poster you hope wish think will die in 2019
I think you have to declare if that means actually dead IRL, or just that they quit posting (maybe like 1/2 points)
and you have to figure out how the scoring thing works, because I don't know how old any of you fucks really are (except for Brat, who is 477)

  • Artie Lange
  • Dennis Rodman
  • Kellen Winslow
  • John Daly
  • Jason Whitlock (sports writer)

Marcus Vick 34

Ron Jeremy 65

Diana Ross 74

Outside of Demi Lovato are there any other musicians/actors that turn 27 this year?  Those always seem like solid picks for 73 points.
