Hell, he got out of St. Louis, seems like a successful life.

Just getting out of St. Louis makes for a successful life.

You also gave Meriwether Lewis a tour of the place.

I'm thinking @Armybrat has dislexia - he meant he got out in 1795, just before Lewis & Clark showed up

Just read he had to tour right up to the end just to pay his medical bills.

Charles Van Doren, the most elegant crook of all time (?) died today at 93.  Chuck became (in)famous by allowing himself to get answers and prompts from the show's producers on the popular (late 50's) game show '21' and guarantee himself a long run on the show.  He was a New England blueblood, an academic, and had the looks that got the 50's coochies all wet and stuff, so they wanted him to keep winning.  Eventually he 'fessed all and retired quietly to author some books or somesuch.

Played by Ralph Fiennes in the pretty good movie "Quiz Show" about 20 years ago.
So Chuck, what's the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?  Don't peek!  RIP.

Ian Congito, brit comedian - nobody had picked him

The cliché about a comedian dying on stage comes true

Quote

Veteran British comedian Ian Cognito died on stage Thursday evening during a stand-up performance.

The comic, who was in his early 60s, fell ill during the performance at the Atic bar in the English town of Bicester, 14 miles north of Oxford.
Paramedics were called to the venue just after 10 p.m. but Cognito was pronounced dead at the scene, the venue's owner, Ryan Mold, confirmed to CNN.

I only need to hit on one and we all win.

So far I am disappointed none of my selections are dead yet...not because I want to win the contest

Yeah, this year is gonna suck.

Damn it, I hate it when I'm right. I'm 2 for 10 and it's only May.

I still don't think you understand how this works. Why would anyone choose a celebrity over one hundred years of age? Negative point value.

RPM 6.

Which puts you in second place.

What a great journalist... I’ll missing seeing/hearing her on the news.

With about 40 days left in her year, this has seemed like a fairly slow year for famous people dying.  It hasn’t been zero but the names have been a bit less familiar.
