March 13, 20196 yr Rafa's bombing his FH as usual. If Federer can get past Edmund, we'll have a juicy Federer-Nadal matchup in the semifinals.

March 13, 20196 yr Not sure how long he can keep it up, but Federer is in great form so far this week.
March 14, 20196 yr Any of you been to Indian Wells? Thinking of heading out for the finals on Sunday. The nosebleeds are $270 per though which is a lot more expensive than I would have thought.
March 14, 20196 yr Author How much fun can it be watching tennis from far away? That ball ain’t real big.
March 14, 20196 yr Yeah I was using the nosebleeds as a baseline for cheapest ticket. Before I looked I thought I'd be able to get mid tier loge seats for a couple hundred but that's not even close to reality. Pretty surprised.
March 14, 20196 yr Hotels aren't cheap there either from what I hear. But you pay for what you get. I hear its a great experience if you can afford it.
March 15, 20196 yr Federer through to the semis in straights. Not his best form though, he'll have to bring a higher level against Nadal. March 15, 20196 yr Rafa called the trainer over in the second set and he’s getting treatment on his knee, it looks like. Decent chance he retires given his history.

March 16, 20196 yr Author The kid wins! That was a fucking GREAT 3rd set, can’t remember an 18-year old as poised as her. Canada, you got one.

March 18, 20196 yr Fed will need to drop to 250 level events to catch Connors. Doubt he's willing to do that tho

March 18, 20196 yr He'll still win Basel every year and he'll always compete at Halle/Queen's as long as he plays. This was by far the easiest imaginable draw for him + a W/O in the Semifinals and he still couldn't close the deal. His best M1000 event going forward will likely be Shanghai given it's the fastest HC surface. IW was basically clay disguised as a hardcourt surface and Miami, Toronto/Montreal, Cinci, and Paris aren't exactly fast surfaces either...

March 20, 20196 yr Naomi Osaka's older sister was granted a main draw wild card. Ride those coattails, Mari! Edited March 20, 20196 yr by perfectchaos007
March 20, 20196 yr Author From some article... Quote "Mari Osaka’s current live ranking is No. 338 in the world. Her career high is only No. 280 in the world. Osaka has played two events this year, losing 6-0 6-0 in the first round of the Newport Challenger this year and losing in straight sets in qualifying for ITF Midland. And yet, she is a wild card into this big event." Naomi is rep'd by IMG, Miami's owner. Also, the layout is fucking badass now.
March 20, 20196 yr Oh wow, I didn't know the new site was finished and ready to go. I thought they were still playing at Key Biscayne
March 23, 20196 yr Both Thiem and Nishikori crash out of Miami early in upsets Also the new venue looks fantastic.
