It was the 182nd-ranked Antonia Lottner. Also holy shit, Tara Moore recovered from a 0-6 0-5 match-point deficit to beat Jessica Ponchet: https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/47871628

  • and fed's through to the quarters.  took the 3rd set in a tiebreaker at 3.

  • Pocket Rocket is hanging ‘em up. Helluva career for what she had to work with.

This is pretty cool.

Eh. Feels like the early 2010s again when all the top players are too inconsistent. Without Serena or a player of her calibre the WTA is a hodge-podge.

The prohibitive favourite to win Monte Carlo starts his campaign tomorrow.

Have to imagine Nadal will breeze through this draw if he's even close to 100%, unless he faces full-power Djokovic in the final. Monte Carlo is the slowest (and one of Nadal's best) courts on the tour.

Stan out too after bageling Cecchinato in the first.

Seriously? Jesus. Wawrinka was rolling when I stopped watching.

Nadal already on the way to bageling RBA in his first match. I wonder if anyone will be able to win a set against him this year.

Damn. Dimitrov hung with Nadal for almost the entire first set, only to give it away at the end. 6-4 Nadal.

Zverev out in straights as well! At this point it's a near certainty Nadal will win MC, and he probably won't drop a set on the way.

This is funny, right is the Netherlands’ Fed Cup doubles specialist, she wasn’t feeling the dress.

Fed Cup teams normally dress alike for their official photos. Never seen an active player go with a suit before.

Oh shit I thought that was a guy and you were talking about the woman left of hi......uh her. whoopsie!

No worries, I made the same mistake at first. Was wondering when the Davis Cup started doing mixed doubles 😂

JFC. Pella broke Nadal twice to go up 4-1 in the opening set, only for Nadal to break back twice and level it at 4-all.

Was at the Fed Cup in SA. Keys just never got going, like she was sleep walking through the match. Stephens at least showed up and put in some effort in her win. I took a loss as well, paid $9.00 for a Modelo(hangs his head in shame).

That’s called ‘pulling a Madison’.

Wish Collins was there to replace her tomorrow, could possibly go with Kenin though.

Yeah, it would be nice to see another player get a chance on Sunday. She just didn't appear to be up for the match, the crowd was really supportive too.

Check out this post a few minutes ago on the tennis site about Ash Barty as she was beating  Sabalenka...

Almost like Fed and Nadal combined in terms of talents, skills and mental strength.

She may need a restraining order against that dude at some point.

If Vika holds on against Sam here, we could have one helluva doubles rubber to advance to the finals.

Barty/Sam v. Sabalenka/Vika would be dirty, but don’t know if Belarus’ captain would run Vika back out.

Vika retired in the Monterrey final against Garbine, guess who’s lined up in R1 of Stuttgart?

Tennis will get you.
