September 1, 20196 yr Now that it’s year round, hopefully we can get constant updates from mueller beer on their stock levels...assuming Heb is even open.
September 2, 20196 yr If any of you Houston guys want to come watch the LSU game at Great Heights Saturday, I’ll cover your first couple of beers. I think we’re going to do a beer special for anyone wearing Longhorn gear on top of that.
September 3, 20196 yr Dammit, I’ll be at the game. Some GH BA Barleywine would be pretty clutch for pregame... [emoji6]
September 3, 20196 yr Two of those looked like vomit. And the worst kind of vomit, the hurling on the side of Bourbon Street after three too many Pat O's hurricanes kind of vomit.
September 3, 20196 yr They were insane. Definitely a style of beer ive never had and def. a style that is gonna blow up in the near future: Slushie beers also, RIP Rabbit Hole
September 4, 20196 yr Houston-area Surlyers (is that the preferred nomenclature?): are Parish beers more readily available in stores now? My wife will be in town briefly for business and hoping she can pick me up some as she’s driving back out of downtown and up 45. Not many places that convenient around where she will be downtown (and that original Specs always seems like a miss in the past). In particular, does anyone know if the Spring Market H-E-B on FM 2920 regularly has Parish? That seems to be the most convenient location on her route. TIA

TIA Can't speak to that particular HEB, but every HEB I frequent is always stocked with a variety of Parish. Not always Ghost, but usually. Even Kroger has it and Kroger is shitty.
September 6, 20196 yr Can release later this month, but we tapped a keg today if anyone wants to pop in and try it.
September 7, 20196 yr Hit up Dogfish Head yesterday for Vintage and Vinyl. They’re pouring a rye barrel aged Palo Santo Marion from 2011-2015 that is ungodly great.
September 7, 20196 yr Dock beers. This stuff is great. No tomfuckerry. No lactose, fruit, ass sweat, etc.
September 7, 20196 yr Just under 24 hours until game time. Hook em, Surly. [emoji869]What’s up with the gold and purple color scheme here? Negged.
September 9, 20196 yr We went all Louisiana beers and paired them with mdmost’s homemade gumbo for the LSU game. Unfortunately, it didn’t yield the same on-field results like it did when we did the same for the Sugar Bowl.
September 11, 20196 yr it's aight. it's better when it's super cold, but yeah, not my favorite. my HEB is slacking on beer and that was the newest shit they had.
September 11, 20196 yr ...which is why i also made sure to grab Old Faithful as well. Much, much better imo:Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
September 17, 20196 yr Its ok. Tastes nothing like and OF or a Manhattan, but a solid blend nonetheless. Fun to try
September 20, 20196 yr Every American Solera beer I’ve had has been outstanding. This is no exception. Also, I can’t immediately recall any beers that make Simcoe the main showcase of the beer (and not just in the mix like a Pliny)
September 20, 20196 yr Anybody enjoying any good Marzens now that the stores have told us that it's Fall? Did a blind taste-test between the Karbach, Real Ale, Shiner, and then threw Spaten in the mix to represent the old guard. Karbach was the hands-down winner do to the flavor and impressive balance. Shiner came in last, which was really surprising. Spaten came in third simply because it wasn't as balanced as the Real Ale, but I will always keep Spaten on-hand for those cold-weather patio days. Don't even get me started on the continued abomination of Sam Adams.....
