October 15, 20196 yr Question for the Houston hordes: Relatives from Katy are driving here (Atlanta) for Xmas. What Houston beers should I request? Favorite styles are pretty traditional: amber/ESB/porter/stout. I've had a few samples from Buffalo Bayou, St. Arnold's and whomever makes Oso Bueno. Thanks.

Based on your avatar; you’ll love it too.
October 15, 20196 yr Depending upon the timing, Live Oak Primus is all you'll need to make the trip worth it. ( yes, i am aware it is not an H-town beer, but TEXAS!!!) Edited October 15, 20196 yr by Iceman
October 16, 20196 yr Picked up my annual Beer Advent Calendar at costco this weekend. I've bought this 4-5 years now. The beers are pretty good, nothing outstanding but still good. I usually get 3-4 of these and give them as presents. (yes, they have the 2019, this is just a pic off google)
October 17, 20196 yr mmmmmm Primus. I'll be at the Primus Release Party next week. If you see a guy wearing a burnt orange live oak t-shirt, come yell muledick and I'll buy you a beer.

October 19, 20196 yr Any reports on Avery's Kaiser Imperial Maerzen? Almost picked up a sixer yesterday, but went with the more traditional Ayinger.
October 21, 20196 yr Uncle Billy's is moving and no longer going to brew beer. They'd actually improved significantly over the last two years with their new brewer. That's a pretty big legacy to leave behind too with some of the best brewers in austin having gone through that brewpub. They'll be doing canned cocktails out in Dripping Springs. I've had them before than they're trash. anyway, i heard through a brewer (and looks like this rumor is already out there) that austin eastciders has acquired the space. October 21, 20196 yr Always wanted them to be better than they ever were. That's true for their beer and their food.
October 21, 20196 yr their beer was better than people gave them credit for. I blame their shitty bbq and then swifty leaving to start ABGB for their temporary fallout. Their food and beer was pretty good by the end.
October 21, 20196 yr There was never really anything I loved of theirs, no matter the time period. I have a friend who insists on going there pretty regularly so believe me, I drank my share. They had a couple of tolerable beers. That's the most I can give them. After the first few years of bad food, I just stopped ordering anything but the burger, which was at least edible.

October 24, 20196 yr I’m not a Ballast Point fan, but there bar in downtown Disney in Anaheim is really good. And that you can get to go six packs for retail while everyone else rapes you is really fucking great. More impressive is that Aloha Sculpin was 4 days old to go.
October 25, 20196 yr Much like Michael Bolton, I celebrate the entire Firestone Walker Luponic Distortion catalog. This # 14 may be one of my favorites of the series. Crisp and citrusy.
