October 26, 20196 yr I always find it slightly amusing that I’m in Texas yet drinking a beer with a picture of a snowy cabin on it in October. I know that it’s a wet hop it just seems too early for snowy cabins is all.
October 26, 20196 yr Great Heights Bourbon Legend is borderline incredible.  They still have cans, fyi. Outstanding job, Patrick and co.
October 26, 20196 yr Still haven’t cracked one of my cans, for whatever reason. I was a fan of the base English barleywine. Maybe if the Stros even it up tonight I’ll open one up.

I just finished off my last year's stock of Primus, so began restocking yesterday. I have a case of it to take out to COTA this weekend for Formula 1. Things could get shitty in a hurry...  Â
October 31, 20196 yr Extremely overratedSent from my iPhone using TapatalkThe one I had two years ago was really great.
November 1, 20196 yr Having an Electric Jellyfish at The Shady Llama in Wimberley. Pretty cool place.
November 1, 20196 yr In the ever changing IPA landscape of hazy and DDH and milkshake, etc..., sometimes it’s nice to go back and have an O.G. IPA.
November 2, 20196 yr In a wedding on my buddies property with post reception camping, definitely a 6 Primus night.
November 2, 20196 yr Overnight Austin trip. Happened to be passing through Round Rock right when Pinthouse was opening up and picked up some souvenirs (whilst also enjoying a flight, of course).
November 2, 20196 yr Speaking of, any special/limited releases going on around Austin today I should hit up? I know Austin Beerworks is releasing Lazer Salad tomorrow and will be going by Jester King tomorrow as well.
November 3, 20196 yr prolly too late, but southern heights canned their 2nd anny beer (today was their party) and it was good. tasted like a hazy from pinthouse from the distant 2017Â era. Edited November 3, 20196 yr by Bottlecap
November 3, 20196 yr I did happen to have their collaboration with Zilker - Friends with Benefits III. Tasty.
November 3, 20196 yr Further Austin weekend beer highlights (beyond Pinthouse and Zilker): Always enjoy the scene at ABW   After Zilker, we stopped by nearby Lazarus. Same as last time I visited, liked but didn’t love any of their beers. Seemed way more crowded this time vs the prior time I visited so good for them.    Stopped by East 1st Grocery to pick up some beers to bring home and the decided to head by nearby Hops & Grain. Was initially worried that it appeared they were shutting down but surmised they are repainting so that’s why the taproom is totally barren    Always cap off an Austin weekend trip with a stop at Jester King right when they open at noon. However, with some time to kill before noon, decided to revisit Vista Brewing (which opens at 11:00)   Love the scene there. Like the beers there.  Also, had a bee fly up to, land on, starting drinking and then fall into their Schwarzbier.   Then noon at Jester King. Tried the Coolship Roadtrip collab with American Solera. Good stuff.     On the way out of town, got some ABW Lazer Salad on tap and in some crowlers (sadly the dedicated cans get released next week).   Good times   Â
November 4, 20196 yr ^^^^^ That's what I'm talking about. Re: Zilker, I love their coffee milk stout. Like really really love it. I've had a couple others that I liked okay, an English pub ale and a sour. I like their setup and want to like more of their stuff, but admittedly as a non-IPA guy I'm not really their target demo anyway.  Â
November 5, 20196 yr My FIL is in San Antonio, can he get Live Oak down there now? Any other breweries to check out other than Freetail?

November 6, 20196 yr Great Heights 2nd Anniversary Party is next Saturday, the 16th for all you Houston people. 3 totally new beers, 3 can releases, glassware, live music, good times, no tickets required. I recommend swinging by.
November 6, 20196 yr Damn, gonna miss it by a couple days. I’m still gonna pick up some crowlers while I’m in town.Â

Yes on the live oak. Primus might not be on the shelves yet, but hefeweizen is almost always available. There aren't really any must have San Antonio beers unless you are a total San Antonio Homer. Â
November 6, 20196 yr Found out over the weekend that the only TX breweries who "export" to Georgia are Shiner and Jester King; however, I've yet to see anything from the latter on the shelves. And I've checked a lot of shelves in metro Atlanta.

Find out who the distributor is in Atlanta and email them asking what stores typically receive shipments. Even if they do get it, it might only be once a quarter.Â

November 7, 20196 yr Cold front + trip to total wine = great weekend picked up: -Anchor Christmas -St. Arnold's Christmas -Deschutes Jubelale -Delirium Noel -Harpoon Winter Warmer -St. Bernardus ...and a couple others i forgot.
November 9, 20196 yr 5 Stones’ Shepherd Warrior is pretty tasty. Haven’t had a ton of their beers but typically pick up a 4 pack of whatever of their latest release East 1st Grocery has when I’m in Austin (as, when out of town, I’m always looking to bring back something we don’t have here in Dallas). I’m assuming their beers don’t really move the needle much for those in Austin but I’m certainly not regretting pick this up.
November 9, 20196 yr Staying in Anaheim in a couple of weeks for work for only 1 night. In between The Bruery and Bottle Logic, if I can only make one which one do I choose?
November 9, 20196 yr Especially given that I can get Bruery beers here, I’d choose Bottle Logic (and Green Cheek is very close by to it as well). Plus, as I’ve been to all three when out there, I preferred Bottle Logic and Green Cheek’s taprooms to Bruery’s as well.
November 11, 20196 yr Never had any Prairie Dawgs before. Hopefully 1 of these 19 is goodSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
November 11, 20196 yr Spaten, imo. This years pricing sucks but at least it finally makes sense to buy a pitcher, at least for import.
