February 1, 20196 yr San Francisco Beer Week starts tomorrow and I hope to survive it again.Evidently Russian River produced double the amount of Pliny the Younger, so I expect there to be secrete tappings all over town.

Plans for the new location would include a brewery, event and music space, as well as food options and room to grow beer ingredients. Co-founder Ben Sabel isn’t sure if Circle will keep its original home on 2340 West Braker Lane or not. They are a decent taproom away from making their current location successful and I think a move to the boonies would doom them. They need to copy ABW and the smaller guys in the are need to band together to (better) promote brewery crawls.

February 2, 20196 yr Enjoyed some beers at Great Heights tonight. Feel weird introducing myself as from the internet so I just keep my mouth shut.
February 2, 20196 yr Not sure what I think about this. Super juicy with citrus and even a little Kiwi berry.
February 2, 20196 yr Haven't had the pleasure of visiting yet, but that's a fine looking painting of Inigo Montoya right there.

February 2, 20196 yr Jucifer from Gnarly Barley in Hammond, LA. Juicy and citrusy without being douchey hazebro. Get some.
February 2, 20196 yr I heard that Adelbert's has limited time leftMeh beers with terrible branding isn’t a recipe for success. If most of your beer is forgettable, at least have good branding to keep you going like ABW.
February 2, 20196 yr Wait, are you saying that most of abw beers are forgettable?Yep. I like Sputnik but don’t like anything else from there. I’ve tried plenty and have never wanted a second round of anything. Pinthouse and Zilker are my go to’s.
February 2, 20196 yr Most of my beer nerd friends feel the exact same way. Otoh I dig all but a few of their beers.
February 3, 20196 yr Ok then. I’m not really even talking about tap room beers so much as packaged RTG beer from heb when it’s open. That’s a category that pinthouse can’t even compete in and zilker is hardly even present. And on that note, I’m pretty sure I’d take fire eagle over marco ipa on the reg. I’m an admitted abw homer. It’s fine and I accept that. I realize they’re not the best around and that’s cool too. But hey, taste is all relative right. Let’s toast with the one you do like.
February 3, 20196 yr Pastry Beer Dorks flex on ABW I don’t even know what this means but I’m pretty sure you just reached for my penis. How you doin?

After several months with nothing to keep me interested, I stopped going. There are so many breweries in the area now. I know we have all heard the stats that some low % of beer sold is craft and overall sales are up year after year, plenty of room for growth. It’s all true and craft will continue to grow, but I think we are at the point that we see some closures and not just an endless stream of new openings.
February 3, 20196 yr There are like 20 or so different breweries in various stages of opening in austin alone, so I dunno. Theres still a lot of market room if you aren't complete trash.
February 3, 20196 yr Is shiners smores any good? Tonight I saw the case but opted for bock because i'm a pussy

February 3, 20196 yr Had a Hopslam at lunch. This beer has been “meh” for me for at least 5 years. So glad I didn’t pull the trigger on a $20 6 pack yesterday.
February 4, 20196 yr Gagree on Hopslam being meh... grabbed a couple six packs last year thinking that I caught a whale and ended up reaching for them last vs other options in the beer fridge...#firstworldproblems

Sucks because they are much closer to home.
February 4, 20196 yr This is damn good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The restaurant/tap room is worth a visit too
February 4, 20196 yr Is there a hands down worst Texas brewery since Texas Big Beer closed a few years ago? There a few in Houston like Bakfish and Platypus that are on the wrong side of mediocre. I still don’t think I’ve come across anything as consistently bad as TBB.
