At this point, I'm convinced the Trump "presidency" will end with the worst constitutional crisis this country has seen since the Civil War because I strongly believe he will never willingly give up power and would use any means at his disposal to stay in office. His motive, of course, is staying out of jail because he's got to know that the day he walks out the front gates of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is the day he will be arrested.

After today, there can be no question he'll violate every constitutional standard possible to stay in office. I mean, I knew he had it in him, but his open confession that it's really not a national emergency by stating he didn't have to do it was proof that he will definitely go there when the time comes. Our nation's legal system and law enforcement will be put to the ultimate test if the time comes to drag him kicking and screaming out of the Oval Office.

Y'all scoot over and make some room - I'll somehow manage to get over my fear of heights.

Oh, and I prefer bourbon over scotch.

And my limited experience with duke people is they tend to wind up on Wall Street. Not exactly the best endorsement if true.

I know one thing, Trump’s exit from office will not be pretty.  Something I’ve always kinda sensed is anything they hit Manafort with will eventually hit Trump.  They’re the same kind of scum except Trump is much dumber.

My preference shouldn't be viewed as a limitation - it's merely a request.

I've been contemplating dueling ledges, the proud peacocks drinking scotch and jabbering endlessly on one side, and the stoic bourbon drinkers on the other.

It’s good to know with all that happened today foxnews.com is making sure we know about an email account for AOC’s boyfriend. True journalism right there.

Philadelphia beats U.S. appeal in sanctuary city case
(Reuters) - A federal appeals court said on Friday the Trump administration cannot cut off grants to Philadelphia for its refusal to cooperate with immigration authorities seeking to deport immigrants who are in the country illegally.

In a 3-0 decision, the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia said the U.S. attorney general lacked power to condition that city’s receipt of $1.6 million for local law enforcement on its compliance with three new requirements.

The whole litigate an issue to death was modus operandi for the Trump companies, no? He doesn't care if it goes to court. He'll gladly play court roulette because then he has an issue to rally his base with. It's simply amazing watching Republican after Republican bend over and take this with a smile on their face. Never again should a Republican in Congress utter the phrases "executive overreach" or "governing by fiat" at a Democratic president after this pathetic sham they've allowed to happen.

Republicans have shown that the only crimes ever committed by the Clintons and Obama were that they were Democrats. The Republicans have no values beyond power and party...period. They will tolerate any corruption on their own side while a Democrat forgetting to put the seat down is an impeachable offense.

They don't ever get to bitch about a Democrat again.

So I didn’t keep up with the happening on the emergency declaration, but this has to seal the deal on impeachment right?

Its easy when you believe in nothing.

Although it can be exhausting.

College admission talk in the Trump thread not going away.

Probably, Catholic schools here tend to be filled with Mexican middle class families. They are fairly inexpensive and provide a good but not great education so they aren't something associated with privilege in this neck of the woods. A lot of these schools were established when the inquisition was still in place.

Maybe so, maybe both sides.

Congress abdicating their responsibility in terms of constitutional distribution of powers is a both sides issue.  Thanks for reminding me.

So I just watched the new Lorena Bobbitt miniseries on Amazon Prime.

(Go watch it, it’s really, really great. Fucking infuriating but great.)

And John Wayne Bobbitt has a personalized license plate on his car that reads “DJTRUMP” and one on his motorcycle that reads “TRUMP”.

Because of course he does.

No guy should lose his dick. But that is a compelling argument.

At this point, I think Trump could take a shit on the Lincoln Memorial and wipe his ass with the Constitution and he'd get away with it.

Watch the series and see if your opinion changes.

And his subsequent botched penis enlargement surgery for a PORNO did more damage to his weenie than Lorena did.

The surgeons did a remarkable job and he had a fully functioning tallywhacker after she gave him what he deserved.

And the series shows you crime scene photos of the detached member. That thing was little. Like 2 1/2 inches maybe?

She did very precise work.

Or.... nothing will happen.  I'm on your side and all, but none of that shit is ever going to happen. Ever.  No one worth celebrating is going to jail.

Good news is, wall ain't happening either.  So we have that going for us, which is nice.

You’re gonna say Breitbart arrrgh, but I’ve heard this guy speak a few times and he is not hard right at all. He doesn’t think we need a wall all the way down the border. His #1 strategy would be to declare the big  cartels terrorist organizations to go after their finances. But anyway, he paints a good picture of the level of dysfunction in Mexico.

Maybe owning up to our role in their creation and propagation would be a start, too.

This is for real? You really believe this? You really think that he would straight up refuse to leave?

In the late 80s/early 90s, I can confirm that it was impressive when somebody got into Rice.  But this was Fort Bend County, and way too many middle-class helicopter parents were pushing their kids hard.

Unlike his private business, he won’t get any legal bills.  So he probably loves seeing things that rile his base up go to court.

Little is around 5 inches.  2.5 is firmly in the micro category.

Wonder why Mitt makes such an appearance.  Anyhow, the President of the United States is declaring an emergency to build a wall to own the libs.  Super Troll.

Would really like to know that as well.   It was very odd to see Mitt getting that much time in the video.

Maybe Trump thinks Mittens is oppos to him.

Pretty sure that having a tiny penis is a prerequisite for being a Trump supporter.

Can we just take a minute to soak up all the ridiculous dumb shit Trump has done, said, got caught saying,  implied, tweeted etc... since he announced he was running.  Now imagine had Obama, Hilary had she been elected, George W., any other POTUS acted this way.  I would hope there would have been outrage for either party.  Instead we have a neutered checks and balance system.

How in the fuck are so many people willing to accept this orange human dumpster fire as capable of holding the office of President and all the responsibility that comes with it?

See, a substantial percentage of Americans think God wants Donald Trump to be President. Presumably because God's an asshole and He hates us.

That was entertaining.

This is like watching Network play out in real life with Trump as an evil version of Howard Beale and he’s president.

Everyone with a heart can see this man is mentally not well but the reptiles that surround him are too selfish, amoral, and cowardly to do the right thing and push for an intervention.

They will ride the crazy Trump train to advance their own interests until he fucks over the wrong people and then they will discard Trump like a used condom.

The backdrop of this tragedy is the death of America’s moral authority and leadership in the world.  We can only hope some shade of the rule of law and democracy survives.
