He's so innocent, he's now suing the Elijah Cummings to keep him from obtaining Trump's tax returns from his accountants:

https://www.politico.com/story/2019/04/22/trump-sues-oversight-committee-chairman-finance-records-1284995

President Donald Trump on Monday sued House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings to block a subpoena of the president's financial records from an accounting firm.

In a new court filing, Trump’s attorneys are seeking to block Cummings’ subpoena to Mazars USA. The Democratic lawmaker is attempting to obtain 10 years of the president’s financial records. Mazars had asked the committee for a so-called “friendly” subpoena so that it could comply with the request.

“We will not allow congressional presidential harassment to go unanswered,” Trump attorney Jay Sekulow said in a statement Monday.

The committee is investigating allegations from Trump’s former attorney and fixer Michael Cohen that the president at times artificially inflated and deflated his assets for his personal benefit. Republicans have contended that the investigation is solely meant to embarrass Trump.

“The committee’s attempt to obtain years’ worth of confidential information from their accountants lacks any legitimate legislative purpose, is an abuse of power, and is just another example of overreach by the president’s political opponents. We look forward to vindicating our clients’ rights in this matter,” William Consovoy and Stefan Passantino, who are representing Trump in the suit, said in a statement.

Well hell, blame me.  I watch a whole lot more Food Network than I do CNN.

You only have to watch CNN for thirty minutes to collect everything they will provide for 12 hours. Five minutes of the top news story followed by opinion show after opinion show beating it to death.

Opinion shows are cheap and they're every newsperson's version of fucking in heaven. Brutal.

I only turn on cable news for actual breaking news and a little analysis.

Jeff Zucker's response to this will be to put on more opinion shows.

This...I can't imagine watching more than 30 minutes of any cable news programming, unless some shit is going down. I've got young kids at home and a job that requires quite a bit of travel. When I've got free time to watch TV, I'm either watching something on the DVR or something on a streaming service.

Wow. Talk about misreading my post. I was making fun of @Hornius Emeritus post stating that Trump would have to release his taxes to all states. No shit Captain Obvious.  I have no idea what he would do in any scenario and never posited my opinion. My only point is that it’s painfully obvious in 2019 that you can’t publicly release to States you select. Because internet.

Sure he did. You knew it wasn't going to get confirmed Dotard, but it can never be you taking the hit.

Yeah my mom is getting up there in age and lives by herself in the Northeast. Everytime I visit, her TV is blasting CNN all day, it drives me fucking nuts. I think Trump is a fucking disaster, but I dont want hear about it 24/7. I think all the constatnt doom&gloom has a negative affect on her overall mood as well. This country would be far better off all these 24/7 news channels disappeared overnight.

Goddammit.  The White House Easter Egg Roll.  Something that shouldn't be political at all.  Yet, here we are:

https://www.politico.com/story/2019/04/22/easter-egg-roll-trump-border-wall-1286361

Quote

In between games of "Be Best" hopscotch and the namesake event at the White House's Easter egg roll, a child apparently couldn't pass up the chance to press President Donald Trump on one of his signature campaign promises.

As he colored cards for service members on the White House's South Lawn, Trump responded to a question from one of the children alongside him.

Quote

“I will. Oh, It’s happening. It’s being built now," Trump told the child, before speaking up to share the conversation with reporters. "Here’s a young guy who said, ‘Keep building that wall.’ Can you believe that?”

“He’s going to be a conservative someday!” Trump continued.

Odds the kid didn't even ask about a wall, asked about something else, and Trump just went with it?

Probably something about Humpty Dumpty and Trump jumped on the wall topic.

And I do love stories like this.

The kind of folks who worship at the altar of Trump more heavily match up with the kind of folks who consume hours upon hours of TV.

The kind of folks who think Trump is a buffoon and embarrassment to the planet are not the type of folks who consume hours upon hours of TV.

So, in the sentence "out of the group of people who will suck down hours of cable news, Fox gets the most viewers" the important phrase is "out of the group of people who will suck down hours of cable news."

funny that this has become a story on its own.  the morning the report came out i said he's the type of guy who's way more embarrassed that people are finding out nobody listens to him than he is nervous about the legality behind it.

i swear to god, my old boss has the exact same narcissist personality disorder, it's fucking scary.  prioritizing what's important to him in legal cases got him in so much more trouble.

if this were a movie or a procedural law and order show, the dems would recognize that his vanity is his weakness, and start pounding the narrative that "nobody listened to trump, that's why it wasn't a crime.  nobody takes him seriously.  people think he's a joke.  if more people took him seriously, this would've been a huge obstruction, but he was too stupid and pointless to pull it off.  he needed people around him who understood the law and understood what a joke he was.  they all probably whispered and joked about him behind his back."

to the point where he just starts blurting shit out on twitter and news cameras about how he did it all himself, he's the real mastermind, he orchestrated the whole thing, and none of this other stuff is true!

This is a great idea.  Might as well try it, since the usual stuff isn't working Egon.

besides his family, i have no idea.  they interviewed all his highest campaign people and i think kushner even.

they also discussed talking to trump himself, but his lawyers made it clear they would never ever allow that.  there's a quote about him "perjuring the shit out of himself" or something similar.

Trump is very adept in finding ways around the founding fathers visions. All of the acting secretaries out front shoulda told ya.

Almost 20 tweets already today. Most are just clips from FOX. Golf and tweeting is what MAGA is all about, I guess.

A WH that runs on subordinates disregarding orders from POTUS/CiC that are bad for the country or just plain insane. Just like James Madison intended.

There must be a dead body or something hiding in Trump’s tax returns.  He hired a team of attorneys to prevent Congress from seeing them.

when asked about his taxes, bernie says he'll release them eventually.  when asked again, he does.

when asked about his taxes, trump says he'll release them eventually.  when asked again, he lawyers up and probably has plans to break-up the irs to cover his tracks.

nothing to see here.

His returns will show that he’s flat broke and completely dependent on Russian backed bank loans to stay afloat. Trump’s ego would never allow that info released.

It's all narcissism. He's a fraud. He either committed tax fraud or the tax returns expose him as a fraud. Not a real good outcome there either way.

It's one of the two.  Or both.  No other real options.

Imagine, for a moment, Obama lawyering the fuck up to prevent the release of his birth certificate. And his aides on tv going "you will NEVER see his birth certificate!!".

What's the problem with that? It's just an "F you!" (middle finger out) to the deep state trying to undermine his big win over his competitor. Obama won so he should have been able to do whatever he wanted.

He can't trust himself, therefore he'll never be a part of his own, warm inner circle.  All Trump knows about Trump is that the guy has burned him way too many times.

Except he refuses to know or acknowledge that. It may happen every single day but in his mind after a few minutes of doubt, it never Happened.

My theory is it comes from rejection by the mother. If the seed is there, that’s what causes it to fully bloom.
