Used to have it like crazy. Not in the last few years. Exercise helps, a lot.

I’ve found that drinking helps a lot. That and 5htp and or melatonin.

maybe ask your boyfriend to sleep on the couch for a couple nights.

I had a thread called insomnia on the other board a few years ago. I still have it

Not insomnia, per se, but since the whole prostate cancer thing and the treatment I get up about every 2 hours to piss. I guess I should be thankful I at least wake up.

I’m awake right now. Go To Sleep, Droopy!!

I wonder what Surly is up to...

Aside from exercise, I have two possible solutions:

1) A podcast called "Sleep with Me." It's an intentionally boring motherfucker with a cranky voice who tells wandering bedtime stories. His shit usually puts me under after about 15-20 minutes.

2) If that doesn't work, I go for an app called "A Soft Murmur" which allows you to control sounds of waves, wind, rain, thunder, and whatnot.

Between the two, I've been able to manage some really quality sleep lately.

AMSR?

ASMR?

AR15?

Some shit like that is supposed to be good.

Under Siege 2 will put me to sleep within the first 5 minutes. Perfect for insomnia.

My insomnia went away after we had kids.  I went from laying awake for an hour every night to falling asleep 2 minutes after my head hit the pillow.

It’s not insomnia. I’m up really early.

Terrible movie.

disagree.  pacino captured the hopeless desperation of the character very vividly.

I thought Robin Williams was the insomniac. I haven’t seen it since right after it came out.

I think robin williams was the killer. pacino was the cop who couldn’t sleep because it was always daylight.

Is this the movie where he worked in the photo booth?

negative.

YouTube episodes of Bob Ross.  Don't have to watch if you don't want.  You can just listen.  Next thing you know...time to make the donuts.

Yeah, Williams was the killer. I just thought it was because he couldn’t sleep because it’s always daylight in Alaska

No Al Pacino is the one who couldn't sleep, because he wasn't from there.  I didn't really like the movie, but I thought Robin Williams was excellent in it.

And Robin Williams was excellent. And Maura Tierney was a babe. So was Hilary Swank. I thought the ending was solid and not telegraphed. Then you realize that was really the only way it could end. I wouldn't call it a classic or a 10 or anything but it's a good flick. Lots of great scenery too.

And because he had a guilty conscience.

If you’re off a Bender Xanax.  Resets the brain.

Had this issue big time since my grandmother passed 3 weeks ago.

I had a lot more trouble trying to sleep after mine passed last year. I’m usually in the bed and out in a couple of minutes but not then. Hate to hear that

I lay in the recliner and watch golf in the afternoon if I want to nap.

I don’t take naps.  ever.  except in this exact scenario, sub couch for recliner.

also, you don’t lay in the recliner, you lie in it.

I have insomnia.  Usually i wake up at 3 or 4 am and just can't fall back asleep.  I haven't napped where I have fallen sound alseep during the day in decades unless I was sick.

But sometimes soothing ocean sounds do the trick.

Holy shit this blows, over 2 weeks now of waking up at 430-5 after crashing at 1130-12 and either taking an hour+ to fall back to sleep or not at all. No change in habits (gym/diet), maybe at least partly due to time change Bc I was a rock solid 12-8 sleeper before this.

Get those zquil gummies.

Soak them in vodka.

Why do all the doubts and fears and other stressors show up at 2:30am?
