Talk about a tough, smart little motherfucker. I believe he has a future in the league -- he moves piles even at his size, he can catch, he can block, and he almost never fumbles. Very Fozzy Whitaker. And man did he pull through for us tonight.

Underrated 2018 Longhorn Football contributor.  HORNS don't get to 10 Victories or Win Sugar Bowl without him..... Thx Tre 🤘

Tre is a damn man and it has been a blast watching him destroy defenses all year long. Good luck to the man in his next phase.

He was a fantastic contributor.  I really hope he enjoyed his experience in Austin and hope he gets a tryout in the league.  Could make for a solid COP/3rd down guy possibly.  Have to see how he runs but reminds me of Fozzy a bit and Fozzy had a really nice NFL career.

I also hope this experience encourages Texas to take more graduate transfers when we have the need and it's beneficial.  Anderson was very solid as well.

Yeah, he was under appreciated all year.  Dude gets tough yards almost every carry.

All year, I've been one of many people wanting more Ingram carries, but I'm not sure Ingram was our best back for the past few games.

Agree 100%.  This dude deserves serious props and I hope he gets drafted and makes some $$

Saved his best for last and provided Ingram a great person to learn from and grow into the role.

Tre was great for us. I am happy for him that he was able to come to the greatest university in the country, make a difference on the field, be appreciated, and become a Longhorn for life. Hook ‘em, Tre!

I'm so glad he and Anderson get to have this win with the rest of our seniors who wallowed in mediocrity under Charlie. Tom did these boys right.

Amen, he is exactly the type of player we needed this year and was our best running back especially when we had to run.  I hope he enjoys his time at Texas.

He and Anderson were big contributors this season. I hope we get more of those guys.

I wish he was here one more year.  He is perfect for this offense.  Runs tough inside.  Has enough speed and wiggle to get to the outside.  Also very good in the wheel route and catching the ball in space.  I see Zach Evans playing a very similar role but being feature much more.  This offense is perfect for Zach Evans abilities.

Tre and Chris Nelson were money.  Nelson deserves a lot of credit, but his is the Tre appreciation thread.

Never fumbled. Dude a monster

He lost a fumble in the Maryland game, though it's questionable as to whether it was actually a fumble.

He was a big part of our offensive success. He got better as the season progressed. He will be missed.

Great way to close out his college career. Not the fastest or most athletically gifted, he’s just what we needed. Tough, durable, smart runner who blocked well and catches the ball well. Played a fantastic game on night when Texas wasn’t sposed to be able to run the ball. Perfect balance to the passing offense and Sams legs.

He also brought some swag to the running back room.

Might be one of my favorite RBs in the last 10 years to wear the burnt orange. Great young man with a bright future whether it be in the NFL or not. The fact that he blew out his knee and clawed back to have a great game in the sugar bowl really shows his determination and strength.

Hook em Tre!

He didn’t even start many games at Cal. I think it was 9. He was great for us this year, but it also shows how bad our situation was at RB. Ingram better get stronger or he could top out early.

A lot of young RBs could learn from the man. He never stops churning his legs.  Really enjoyed his play.  He's a ball of hate.

We have nowhere near the same kind of year without him. Time and again he fought for extra yards to keep drives going. It was the kind of thing I'd been wanting to see from a Texas back for ages. He'll be missed next year. Hook 'Em Tre!

Nothing really of note to add but just wanted to also say thanks, Tre. Wish we could keep you another year.

He really turned it on this last game. I'm wondering how banged up he was during the season.

He played his best game last night and made a huge contribution to the team having winning season.

He was the most important signee to to the 2017 class.  As someone earlier stated, we don't get to 10 wins without him.

He ran really well last night.   He showed elusiveness, quick decisions, and power.  Hope he gets into the show.

Was hoping someone would start this thread.  Watson had a great game and glad he got to end his career on a winning note as a Horn.

5 played last night like his asshole was on fire for the last time. he was pita rolling dudes at the end of his outside runs instead of going out of bounds.

in the victory formation he and Anderson were the two happiest guys on the field

At the beginning of the year, I thought this was an extremely underrated pickup and thought he might get at least 200 touches. He closed the season at 187 touches and the one thing I can say about Tre is that I don't really recall a single play that he had a touch where I was like WTF are you doing? Outplayed both of his more highly regarded counterparts on the GA side last night. Also seemed to bring the right attitude and leadership to the running back room - sure hope Keontay took some notes as Ingram definitely needs to be better next year.

Thanks Tre for a great season for us.....you are definitely a Longhorn for life!

Yeah I should have thrown Anderson in there too in the OP. He was the type of LT you didn't notice, because he so rarely fucked up. Those two pick-ups were huge and we are gonna a couple more like this this year if we want to match this season's success. I don't think Anderson ever imagined he would be winning a NY6 bowl when he signed with Rice.

So great that he came from a P5 program, and a great school, but still seemed absolutely thrilled to be a Longhorn every time I saw clips of him. He deserved all the touches he got this year and I'm glad he gets to call himself a Longhorn for life now.

🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽  Hook’em and good luck!  You have been awesome!

Tre Watson played like an experienced veteran all year. Never made any dumb mistakes, extremely reliable, and always ran the inside zone well. What a treat to have had him on our team this year.

Last night, Watson had more rushing yards than DeAndre Swift and Elijah Holyfield combined. Raise your hand if you saw that coming.

Tre was the best back on the field last night overall. He saved his best for last and I am really happy for him and thankful for his year here.

Gotta feel good about a kid who has a degree from Cal, some graduate work at UT, and might get a shot in the NFL.  Anybody know if he's made much progress towards a masters degree and if he'll continue this semester?  His degree is in sociology.

When we got him I thought, "Bueno, we need a 3rd down back. I hope that he can contribute."

He was the "make" in the "Make or Break the season". He was immense. Huge. Bigly!

During the game I was thinking "He is saving our hide, but I bet he never thought that he'd even get to a bowl this big with Cal, much less star in one."

Such a perfection match. I'm so glad that Calvin Anderson jumped on board early and then helped recruit Tre to the good guys. Those two grad transfers were HUGE for us and I think that they will go a long way toward helping us get a little more grad transfer help this spring. (And we have some huge holes to fill.)

So THANK YOU, TRE WATSON! And good luck in grad school and in trying to make it in the NFL!

Loved that he seems to know when to make a move and when to put the shoulder down and not shy away from contact. He finishes most runs with authority.

he's been good all season and capped it off with a huge performance last night.  i think he's going to have a productive career.
