Imagine Austin is VY, and that line of storms are KU linebackers.

My sister is driving in from St. Louis.  She's been dragging this rain with her for the last several hundred miles.  What a horrible drive.

More cows and flat rocks.

And artillery practice at Mabry.

Seems worth it to get out of that ShiThoLe

Is the cow and flat rock thing supposedly still funny?

It’s posted every.single.time it rains.

Do you have a more accurate description of that sound?

It will henceforth be known as "Chet Steadman's mom pissing on a flat rock". Let it be known.

And if somebody accidentally substitutes “cock” for “rock”, that’s okay.

Turned on my sprinklers today for the first time this year.  Never thought I'd be trouble shooting sprinkler heads in July.

Not for Austin proper but for the area.

Thanks for the heads-up, looks like this will likely hit me in the CP and I had no idea any rain was expected at all today.  Last time I checked a couple days ago, seemed like it was expected to be sunny, hot, and dry all week long.

Ugh, I’m in Belton near the lake and the damn thing has been stalled about a mile west of me for the last several minutes. C’mon, daddy needs a new pair of shoes (that a lighter water bill may provide).

(Ha, I knew my Surly reverse jinx would work! Pour baby, pour!)

If this gets to north Austin you can thank me for washing my car on Friday, when there was supposed to be a zero chance of rain for the next week.

It's here.  Lots of lightning and thunder, and fairly heavy rainfall for the past 10 minutes.  Sure hope it lasts a while.  Even if not, it's a welcome break from the heat of course.

I watered the grass this morning in sw Austin. Hopefully that will get us some rain. Doubt it though

My dog is in full "we're all gonna die" mode in 78759.

Thought the thunder was almost done, but negative.

Going on 30 min of solid to CS mom on a flat cock. Now power out for the last 10. Fun times indeed.

NIce call by the weatherman Albert Ramon. Predicated little or no rain for 7 days yesterday and had the nerve to call this a “garden variety” shower. Raining hard in the 78757

Also in 78759. Looks like we got hit dead-on by this storm.

78727 checking in.  Little man grabbed his lantern, to protect the fam.  Good man!

We were in the middle of it.  Mere milliseconds between lightning / thunder.

Arboretum Target lost power twice, and building felt like it was shaking for a bit. This was about 25-30 mins ago.
