September 19, 20196 yr Conroe is under water apparently. Looks like it dumped 9 plus inches just north of the woodlands. Even more to the east. Someone needs to turn the hose off.
September 19, 20196 yr Weird morning.....about 5 miles north of my Woodlands location it's Noah's Arc time.....my house, just a steady soaker. Sorry Austin Edited September 19, 20196 yr by gecko
September 19, 20196 yr Here is the infrared and satellite imagery for what is going on in the Beaumont area. It's going to be worse than Harvey for those people.
September 19, 20196 yr sheesh i feel bad feeling frustrated we didn't get rain while these people are living out waterworld.
September 19, 20196 yr May be that time again boys. Just got 2 calls from the folks that went to Houston and Beamont with our group during/after Harvey. About to start the planning stages.
September 19, 20196 yr I work for an oil company with major operations in the golden triangle. Facilities are flooding as well as employee’s houses. Hotel rooms are being booked for our people.

September 19, 20196 yr It's supposed to weaken before it gets here, but all of that rain is "sagging" south into Harris County and points south. When I woke up this morning the news was all in Conroe and Liberty and Winnie. Now they're talking about Spring, Humble, and Baytown. Very similar to Allison. First day was bad, everyone thought it was mostly over, then BOOM two days later the worst occurs.
September 19, 20196 yr Fuck these slow moving tropical storms/hurricanes. Allison, Harvey and now Imelda.
September 19, 20196 yr Yeah, I thought we were pretty much done with the rain yesterday. It’s raining harder now than it did the last two days. As of last night I had dumped 6 inches of rain out of the gauge. We are already close to 4 inches of rain this morning and it didn’t start raining until about 7:30 or 8:00.

September 19, 20196 yr Hire it out. $30 per mow and it's worth every penny. And the water has risen about 3 feet since I posted that picture. The rainfall rates are very Harveyesque this morning. It’s still nothing like the unfortunate people near Beaumont, but there will be some houses flooded in The Woodlands and Spring today.
September 19, 20196 yr I think it’s @Pancho that’s in the Lake Houston area? That area has been getting hammered for hours.

I take it you’re working from home today too Hate? I live a couple of blocks from Hate, same subdivision. Fun times here but nothing like east of here. As he’s said, we’ve gotten lucky to be just on the periphery of this whole event. If this thing had come up a few miles west of where it actually did it would have sucked. As it is, the eye, or what passes for an eye with this storm, went directly over the top of our subdivision. Everyone stay safe out there.

Looks like its not gonna let up for another day or so to the East. Beaumont and Winnie are absolutely toast also, is it just me, or did the storm move back to the south?
September 19, 20196 yr My wife’s parents lost their house in Kingwood in Harvey. Which is why they now live with us. Her dad has talked to some friends there that are flooding again. Damn.
September 19, 20196 yr My company is sending people home because of the flooding. We are downtown but many folks live in kingwood or north. They are offering hotel rooms for people who can not get home (parts of kingwood). Not sure if I will leave as I live in NW Houston and it looks ok up there (and we didn’t flood in Harvey).

Sure as hell isn't coming north.
September 19, 20196 yr it's feast or famine in austin. this time last year, we were getting record rains, the high land lakes dams flood gates were opened wide, and all hell broke loose. now we can't get a fucking drop.
September 19, 20196 yr Heavy band is about to nail downtown Houston. Already a light show from my building looking northwest.
September 19, 20196 yr Our scouts camp in Bastrop this weekend, supposed to canoe/kayak to work on their badges. Any weather forecast for them @phdhorn ?

I’m stuck at a gas station at West Lake Houston and Will Clayton. Been here about an hour and a half. Lightning struck 50ft in front of me. Got lots of videos of idiots driving, but not sure how to post them. its like Harvey flooding over here. Not sure I’ll get home anytime soon

The heavy stuff is starting to fall here in 2nd Ward, but nothing like what’s been going on up there.
September 19, 20196 yr Pancho is right in the nuts of this near Atascocita. That place has been getting hammered for hours. I hope he's getting some good footage. 6"/hr kinda rain.

I mean, do they have a good roller dog and/or a Chester's? I'd just leave it in park and hang out and eat in the dry.

September 19, 20196 yr The Cajun navy is out and making water rescues. I can post contact numbers here if that would be helpful.
September 19, 20196 yr I project it would cost about 5 million per mile plus pumps, so approx a cool billion, to pump rain water from our reservoirs and bayous to Central Texas. Would that not a good a idea? What would be the benefits/cons? Edited September 19, 20196 yr by RollLeft

September 19, 20196 yr My house in Atascocita looked like it was going to flood around 10am. By 11 the rain slowed a bit and the water almost completely drained. Water got disturbingly close to the front door and the cul-de-sac was completely flooded. Good thing the rain finally slowed down.
September 19, 20196 yr My dentist just texted me to confirm an appointment for this afternoon at 1:30, guess they haven't looked outside.
September 19, 20196 yr SIAP, but did we ever come to a consensus as to the best radar website that doesn't take a subscription? I'll hang up and listen. Just got word from my cousin that my aunt and uncle flooded. . .they did not flood during Harvey. And everyone that did flood during Harvey that I know of flooded again.

Bear, I use the NOAA weather app on my iPhone. I assume they have one for those with Android as well. It’s a paid app to get the full features. Think I paid $3 or $4 for it. I travel for work about 35 weeks a year and it is fantastic. Has been on top of every bad storm I’ve been through. NOAA Radar Pro
