Brilliant. Sign letter of intent and transfer to Texas with zero intention of ever playing a game. Sit out year. Transfer back to USC. Sit out year. Play one bad ass season and go pro with almost zero

1996 and 2007 we're much different times than Jan 20, 2017 to today.  The gulf in culture is far more pronounced and cultural battle lines much more clear today.  All of you sensitive rednecks ca

But but but they're obviously ignoring one of college football's premier statisticians, Bill Connelly, predicting Texas will only win 7.5 games next year (and his confidence in his analytics based on the fact that Herman has never "beaten" the S&P+ two years in a row)!

I owe Connelly a debt of gratitude, if he is the one who convinced Vegas to put Georgia up as a 12-13 point overdog (cue Bevo attack). No way to pass that up.

Pretty sure that's not how Las Vegas works.

One problem the polls -- and humans in general -- have is that they fail to divorce themselves from win-loss records.

SEC is def the place for aggy. Wins? who cares.. SEC!

I hope Herman nails this to the whiteboard in the locker room:

One of the teams expected to generate plenty of preseason buzz is Texas. But not from FPI.

The hype that the Longhorns have finally produced is, in our model's estimation, overstated. Tom Herman's team checks in at No. 26 in our rankings, just missing the cut for our accompanying table (you can find them in the full rankings at the end of this post).

Though Texas took strides last season, it had the benefit of starting 13 seniors and graduate students. Even with a cumulative top-five recruiting rank over the past four seasons, the fact that Texas is returning just eight starters is very likely to be a problem.

As a result, FPI believes Texas is not one of the top 25 teams in college football and will more closely resemble Iowa State or Baylor than Oklahoma in 2019.

They have USC one spot behind us at #27.

Losing 13 senior starters is not bothering me at all. I actually believe we will be better next year. I think defensively we are gonna be a lot more sound. FPI can suck it.

Yeah, apparently ESPN didn't watch any tape on those 13 seniors and grad students. Such a tragic loss.

We still have question marks, but less than we did last year imo. Another year of Yancy. Another year of this coaching staff. Another stud recruiting class.

I wish kickoff was this weekend.

Randomly, I looked at Missouri's projected depth chart. Looks like they are losing anywhere from 10-15 starters (depending on how you define a starter in this age of heavy rotations) including their fucking starting QB. Guess when you're in the SEC, you reload, while if you're Texas you rebuild.

Not to mention they lost to Oklahoma State (not on the list) in the bowl and got the NCAA banhammer. But yeah, Missouri is primed and ready!

Pretty sure they don't operate in the dark. I'd be pretty surprised if there aren't quite a few sports bookies who at least skim Connelly. I'd be even more surprised if some of those who do, then proceed to completely ignore him.

And, frankly, I don't give a fuck what the source of the - to me - unbelievably stupid line was, it damn well worked for me.

Some chuckles: USCe at 19 overall

aggy at 7 on offense

Pardon me if I don't hold my breath for either of those to match end-of-season results for 2019

This is fantastic. I was a little worried everybody would be sucking us off all offseason and we would start thinking we were hot shit. But no, plenty of bulletin board material out there.

We have to milk the whole underdog thing. After 10/12/19, we may be ranked above OU in every poll for well over 2 years.

Which player are you guys looking forward to seeing the most next year?

For me it’s Ingram, easily. His vision plus the added physicality (will probably add at least 10 lbs of muscle courtesy of Yancy) is going to be a nightmare for opposing defenses.

I know I'm late to this party but I'm going with JWhitt on offense and BJ Foster on defense.

aggy that high is a head scratcher too. They lose 7 starters on D including the top 6 tacklers  They also lose the 1700 yard RB, their leading receiver, and key OL guys.

I know it says one but imma do Defense and Offense.

defense: Joseph Ossia- going to be a complete monster next year.

offense: toss up between Moore and Whittington.

I think it's funny that we are getting shit on for losing 13 seniors ("ha-ha! you're losing so many great players, you're gonna suck next year!"), but we're also getting shit on because we only had 3 players invited to the combine ("ha-ha! none of the players you're losing are any good!"). We're either losing a lot of talent, or we're not. It can't be both. Oh well, as others have stated, I'm glad we've got a steady supply of bulletin board material flowing.

Loved hearing Slippery Rock scores announced at Texas FB games in the past......

Slippery Rock (D-II – PA): Slippery Rock University is seeking a part-time coach to coach the Defensive Backs. Previous playing experience is required and previous coaching experience is preferred. This position will be given the title of Defensive Backs Coach along with full responsibility of the development of that position as well as a recruiting territory. Compensation is $10k. Position is required to star this Spring. Please send resumes to domenick.razzano@sru.edu.

That's pretty funny.  We're going back to garbage status because we are losing seniors who are apparently irreplaceable.  aggy losing the entire heart of their defense but somehow getting better.  SEC, SEC!!
