First road game of the entire season and we do that. Baffling.

What team am I watching? We’re so jekyll and hyde.

problem is we are hyde, hyde, hyde, Jekyll, hyde, hyde, hyde, jekyll

if we could just shoot 37-38% with Hayes and our D we'd be pretty good.

Funny seeing Liddell say he didn’t want to go in. Not sure what to make of that

Yeah that was weird.

yeah that was strange.  it didn't look like either he or shaka was upset that he said no but weird

Been thinking this will be a fun team to watch this year.  Like the swagger.

I've also said that before... maybe this is a year it works out.

KSU is one of those teams that turns games into slugfests with their style. The best way to rise above it is to shoot lights out, which we did. Would be nice if we had another anomaly game against West Virginia this weekend.

another way to look at our first half on offense:

febres: 3-5

everyone else: 6-20

for the game:

Jase Febres: 8-10 (7-9 3P)

Everyone else: 15-38 (7-18 3P)

We played pretty good defense, but we gave up too many open 3's, which was also something that cost us vs Michigan State. We need to get better at that, but the story of the game is Hayes and Febres. They came up big for us tonight. Also, the overall team body language was encouraging.

If Jase shoots like the rest of the team, we probably win but with some tense moments. With Jase shooting like he did, it became a laugher.

Texas’ basketball team is now higher rated by Kenpom (28th) than Texas’ football team is rated by S&P+ (30th post-Rose Bowl). Texas must be a basketball at heart given how much fans have viewed the respective seasons for these two teams.

The rest of the team shot 39% from both the field and from deep. I don't know if that's enough for a win. Would have been very close.

First year we’ve won in Manhattan (in their respective seasons) in football and basketball?

Edited by Revolution512

That's correct.  In 2002 we were close, but basketball lost 71-70.

I guess those cocksuckers couldn’t break out the “we own Texas” chant with that second half. Shooting caught fire

Needed that one, but I'm not sure it says much about our team, given KSU's roster issues.  Then again, we've been short Andrew Jones for a year so we have our own problems in that regard.

What was up with that?  Has this team given up on Shaka?  That was a major red flag imo.

20 wins and 8-10 seed in the Tournament. Been saying it for weeks.

I'd take it. 20 wins would mean they'd either went 12-6 in the conf reg season and/or 11-7 w/ a Big XII tourney win. Those conf records would exceed my current expectations for sure.

Absolutely. They were 9-21 inside the arc.

as limited as KSU was I think it would have been.  WVU going to be interesting, I think it will give us a better view of where we are.  I will still be shocked if we go 9-9. we have to shoot around 38% from 3 to be in every game.

That's an emphatic no.

I didn’t see it that way. 30 seconds of mop up duty for a scholarship player was an interesting choice and the response was equally interesting.

Did he do a full Scottie Pippen deal or did he just shake him off? Wasn’t watching.

yeah same here. inquiring minds want to know.

He just shook him off. I really don’t think there was an issue

I agree it didn't look like there was any issue with Liddell saying no(from either side).  maybe Shaka has a deal about asking a scholarship guy if he wants to go in before running in the walk on's.  Shaka probably should have put him in before that but I wasn't paying attention to score/time/stoppages.
