A top 10 finish would not hurt in burnishing our Sugar-topped recruiting pitch. My guess is we do slide in, with OU 3 or 4 and aggy middle teens. It will be interesting to see where we rank compared to the UGA team we just beat in light of their significantly better overall W/L. Assuming the Fightin' Texum Bulldogs Tuscaloosa Campus wins tonight, I would not be surprised to see something like:

1 Bama
2 Clemson
3 OU
4 ND/tOSU
5 tOSU/ND
6 Florida
7 LSU
8 Kentucky
9 UGA/TEXAS
10 TEXAS/UGA
11 Michigan
12 Washington
13 Penn State
14 UCF
15 aggy
16 Miss St
17 WSU
18 Syracuse
19 Northwestern
20 Auburn
21 Army
22 Wisconsin
23 Virginia
24, 25 WVU/Utah/Boise

Why would Wazzu get moved back when they won and were 13 in the last poll?  7 of the teams you have ranked above them lost....

Oops I flipped the game in my head when it was time to slot them. This is a valid criticism of a clear error.

I'm glad you aren't a voter

If we do squeak into the Top 10, it'll be very close.

I think we end up at 11. I think they'll rank Washington at number 10 just ahead of us. Georgia at 9. I think the voters will give Georgia the benefit of the doubt on the loss thinking that they had trouble getting up for the game after missing out on the playoffs. I'd put the order as this:

1 Bama
2 Clemson
3 tOSU
4 OU
5 ND
6 Florida
7 LSU
8 Kentucky
9 UGA
10 Washington
11 Texas

12-25 - who gives a shit.

I could see us leapfrogging UW just because of the national disdain for the Pac-12 recently.

Georgia ahead of Kentucky.

I think conference champs will get the benefit of the doubt when it's a head-to-head decision.

They'll put ND back further, I think.

Who in the motherfuck is putting Kentucky over Georgia and Texas? Are you serious? What argument can you even begin to make to try and spin that horseshit?

Whatever Notre Dame is ranked, it will be laughably too high.

Do you even SEC, bro?

yeah Texas is going to be in the Top 10. Everyone watched that game and knows Texas beat the complete dogshit (pun intended) out of #5 Georgia.

My guess is the Top 10 goes

#1 Bama/Clemson winner

#2 Bama/Clemson loser

#3 Ohio State

#4 Oklahoma

#5 Notre Dame

#6 Florida

#7 LSU

#8 Texas

#9 Georgia

#10 Washington State

I would say 6, 7, and 8 are interchangeable.

This rankings is horrible, this is.

clarification

Pretty damn cool that we lost 4 games and still will likely be in the top 10.  That’s something usually reserved for SEC teams.

UGA should not be ahead of us considering we put a dog leash on them just like what happened to that terriost in Zero Dark Thirty.

Remember that time Texas played Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl and won and still dropped one spot from 3rd to 4th in the final AP poll and Ohio State moved up one spot from 10th to 9th even though they lost?  Yeah, that was weird.

This. That crap team gets way too much credit every year for having dogs on their schedule.

Might need to rank them higher than Bama though.

Georgia got physically beaten by Texas, Clemson whooping that Bama ass all over the field. Voters should reconsider how they view the entire SEC before casting their final and 2019 preseason votes.

my guess:

  1. clemson
  2. bama
  3. ou
  4. ohio state
  5. notre dame
  6. lsu
  7. texas
  8. georgia
  9. florida
  10. washington state

11-3 is significantly better than 10-4?  Especially when three of those wins are over Austin Peay, Middle Tenn, and UMass?  Georgia's two best wins are Florida and Mizzou vs ours over Oklahoma and Georgia.

I'd have it:

  1. clemson
  2. ohio state
  3. notre dame
  4. bama
  5. ou
  6. texas
  7. georgia
  8. florida
  9. lsu
  10. washington

I should not have said significantly. I was thinking of our pregame records, but we are neck and neck now. You are right.

edit: Looking back I may have done too much typing and not enough thinking it the OP. I’m sure it won’t be the last time.

OK state and baylor beating SEC will help.  i think we make #10. loss to Maryland  keeps us from being #7 or higher.

Not polls, but here's what Vegas thinks...

Well at least that recruiting chart going around shows we lost to like the only team that underperforms vis-a-vis available talent worse than we do.

I think this is where it ends up. I could see a Michigan or Kentucky taking the 10 spot over Wazzu. Pac 12 is just trash and will be punished for it in the polls.
