Yeah it's remarkable how little the place has changed, right?

A couple years ago we drove the track. It was Tuesday, or Wednesday, after the race and the barriers were still up around the lower level of the circuit - coming out of the tunnel and down around the harbor and around the pool and then up the hill to the casino. It was really cool. Unfortunately I was not in a really cool car to take advantage of the fun.

Alright-- here's my annual friendly reminder for Monaco: the schedule is different.  P1 and P2 are on Thursday.  Nothing on Friday.  Saturday and Sunday are normal race schedule.  Set your DVR accordingly and enjoy!

Monaco Grand Prix
Practice 1 - Thursday, May 23, 4:55 AM - ESPN2
Practice 2 - Thursday, May 23, 8:55 AM - ESPN2
Practice 3 - Saturday, May 25, 5:55 AM - ESPN2
Qualifying - Saturday, May 25, 8:55 AM - ESPN2
Pit Lane Live - Sunday, May 26, 7:30 AM - ESPN3
On The Grid - Sunday, May 26, 8:30 AM - ESPN
Race - Sunday, May 26, 9:05 AM - ESPN
Race (Encore) - Sunday, May 26, 3:30 PM - ABC
Race (re-air) - Sunday, May 26, 6:00 PM - ESPNEWS

This is from ESPN and I'm assuming those times are Eastern.

And also, as I say every year, this is my favorite venue in all of racing.  I look forward to this weekend every year almost as much as I look forward to TX-OU.  I realize it's largely processional, but it's just so... beautiful.  It'll never NOT be my favorite.

Spa is my favorite race, but Monaco is my favorite venue and weekend.  Can't wait for Thursday!

I love it, too. Suzuka is probably my favorite circuit, but Monaco is my favorite event.

That's a good way of putting it. It's Monaco. It's tiny, fast, deadly, beautiful, glamorous, may it never change.

Amen, brutha.

Is it the hardest track? It’s so thin and the walls are just right there. I can’t fathom how they drive that race so fast. I can’t make it through a race on the game with all the Nanny stuff turned on and not touch a wall.

And.  Here.  We. Go.

It's TX-OU weekend in Spring.  Hooray! :)

One can only hope! I’d like to see Lewis extended his lead over Bottas.

Assuming they qualify well and have a clean start the only chance Ferrari and Red Bull have of even staying close is Mercs being held up by lapped traffic.

Get ready for "I really think Ferrari is going to be hard to beat in qualifying" from Lewis. That's the real "barf"

It’s not barf. You never give the opponent wall paper material. It’s the same ole they are a good team crap that coaches say. Keep it on the track.

Eh, Lewis could say, "Ferrari has absolutely no chance at all" and it wouldn't change the outcome.

Ferrari finding new ways to F up. Leclerc not even in the car, sitting in the garage and getting bounced out of Q1

They just need to fire more people.  That will surely fix the problem.

Darn, if only someone on this thread had predicted this in the preseason.

But yes, that is their strategy.

My wife’s coz was at qualifying on a terrace and took some cool pics.

Leclerc was pretty pissed afterwards. Apparently he hasn't gotten answer on why be wasn't out there. He had plenty of time even with missing the weigh station

They couldn’t have him out quality Vettle again. [emoji16]

Merc 1 - 2 with Hamilton in top is awesome. History making.

Appears its going to come down to whose tires last longer...hamilton,verstappen...or maybe vettel??

Hamilton been worried over tires for last 15 or so laps...pitboss talking him off the ledge

Hell of a drive by verstappen....

They do need to find away to create some overtaking scenarios, very tall order i know for the location

My goodness I wish we'd have some variety on the podium. I appreciate how dominant Mercedes has become, but it's boring as shit.

Watched Monaco this morning.  I'm really starting to get into the Formula 1 thing and I've added this race to my empty nest bucket list.
