February 16, 20196 yr Meh, what kind of spare would have this disheveled board full of old beat up pedals? Oh yeah, Eric Johnson
February 16, 20196 yr What’s the one lower left with the face on it? I believe that’s the Catalinbread Echorec
February 16, 20196 yr What a noob, rolling with that Echorec. Hasn't he seen the new hotness, Strymon Volante.(For real do, seeing EJ with any sort of digital modeling would be a sign of the end of days and we would have to prepare accordingly.)
February 28, 20196 yr Man, what i wouldn't give to be able to play like this dude. My favorite pedal reviewer on youtube. What a monster player.
March 2, 20196 yr Saw a really badass bluegrass band on Thursday, the Lil Smokies. Two of the guys were using these preamps, which I'd never heard of. If you're in the market for a bells and whistles preamp for your acoustic guitar, upright, banjo, etc., these things sounded awesome. Quote STUDIO QUALITY INSTRUMENT PREAMPLIFIER / DI / EQ Like its big sibling the FELiX, ALiX is built into the same roadworthy floor unit chassis, portable enough to throw in your bag or strap to your pedalboard, but still deliver studio quality sound to the stage. With the same stunning audio performance and legendary reliability as our pro audio range, ALiX brings open, musical and nuanced sonic character to any performance situation. The same powerful eq section as the FELiX allows simple and intuitive tone shaping. The high pass filter cuts 12dB per octave from 20Hz to 1kHz, and can also be set as a notch filter for chasing down problem feedback or rumble areas. Parametric midrange covers from 70Hz all the way to 8KHz, and fixed low and high controls are carefully voiced for musical shading of bass and treble.

March 9, 20196 yr Once in a while I get an itch to try a cheapo vibe-type pedal, but it usually goes away after a while. I was looking recently at the Moen Shaky Jimi, Nux Monterrey or the Amoon Kokko Vibe. They all sound pretty cool, but a little different. Not sure which sound I prefer or what I would even be going for.
March 14, 20196 yr I bought one of those PedalTrain "Space Saving" tuners. https://pedaltrain.com/products/sst-space-saving-tunerGood idea in practice, but unless you. REALLY need to save space on a pedalboard, I would shy away.A Snark works better. The thing is just kind of clunky.
March 14, 20196 yr I have never had good luck with a pedal tuner for tuning. They work great as a kill switch though.
March 15, 20196 yr I have some off brand pedal tuner that I like but I'm going to get the smaller polytune for my small board. This Pedaltrain is a just slow, display is clunky and hard to get just right.
March 15, 20196 yr Have this incoming. Needed something to make it easier to remember ideas while I'm just screwing around on the sofa or out on the deck.
March 15, 20196 yr Have this incoming. Needed something to make it easier to remember ideas while I'm just screwing around on the sofa or out on the deck. Please let us know how it works. Looks like a simple and cheap way to record ideas.
March 16, 20196 yr It automatically names your riffs for you? No way, man. I don't need my pedal judging me.
March 17, 20196 yr Love my Polytune. I only use my Snarks for acoustic now. That Wiretap is nifty. Someone, maybe Gibson, makes a cable that does something similar.
March 17, 20196 yr I finally got one of those little clamp-on tuners a while back. It was cool for a while, except now I can't find it.

March 18, 20196 yr I have six of them. They're 8 bucks. I'm too lazy to go to another room to grab one, and sometimes the batteries get low, and I'm too lazy to go for batteries. Moral of the story is I'm too lazy. (I also leave one in my Tele and one in my LP case, so I know I'll have it with me.) Edited March 18, 20196 yr by Deej
March 21, 20196 yr At a Bowie celebration right now. (Google it). Think this must be Charlie sextons board. The big sparkly thing is a Durham pedal pretty sure. Also- for deej et al- someone is rocking a SuproSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
April 1, 20196 yr I bought this used for $40 from a dude on Craigslist. Man, this fucker is underpriced and underrated. $79.99 new. Kind of reminds me of a RAT but with additional range. I use more lo gain ODs almost exclusively but this shit is great for getting your classic rock, ACDC, Sabbath, Britishy-stack shit on. It's basically a modded Distortion+ circuit is my understanding. April 1, 20196 yr Oh, I also bought Super Badass a couple weeks ago. I know a couple of you cats have that one. This demo is genius. 8 of the MXR distortion/OD boxes and explanation of their circuits or what amps/players they are emulating. I like how they aren't shy about straight admitting that the GT-OD and Prime Distortion are modded TS and DS-1 clones.
April 1, 20196 yr How do you like the super bad ass? I have one but haven’t used it much since I bought the La Grange. Which is the best Marshall I’ve ever played btw. [emoji41]

It kind of reminds me of the Fulltone Catalyst, which could give you like 20 different sounds from boost to OD to distortion to fuzz, but nothing really achieved a sound above "very good." It tries to do to much. Still, I'm keeping this thing for sure as it's a blast to play with and costs next to nothing. Also, tbone, I found your next OD.
April 6, 20196 yr New small pedal board setup. Had to take the Shaggy Screamer out. Too many balls for our current setup. Put the Mojo in it's place. Added the Phase 95 for some Tom Jones stuff.
April 8, 20196 yr random question for you pedal nuts...any of you guys happen to know what type of pedal gary clark jr is using to achieve the tone on the song pearl cadillac?
