Must be time to review the still available free agent safeties.

I like the Pollard pick

Pollard projected as 6th rounder...... Cowboys take him at 26th pick in 4th (#128 overall).  Seems like a reach -- hope he ends up a stud for Dallas!!

The aggy rb was projected as a 3-4 round pick and is still there. Those projections are not necessarily reliable, though Dallas does seem to prefer taking people they like early rather than risk not getting them.

Dallas is now the 5th owner of pick 158.

I think jerry wants he cheapest rookie class he can manufacture, so he has money and space for extensions.

Trade

for 158, 218

So #136 is now:  #158, #213, & #218

Remaining picks:

#158, #165, #213, #218, #241

They didn’t have a lot of picks in this draft, so I wonder if this was their plan all along, or if they got wiped out after pollard.

Multiple times teams traded ahead of the cowboys and took guys that the cowboys invited to workout. We’re playing Indian poker.

Yep

Radio opinion is that the Cowboys Roster is above average. It may be hard to make the roster and that may scare off some undrafted FA's from signing. So acquiring more picks to secure young bodies, rather than swinging for the fences in the mid-round.

They have no real back up RB on the roster and the G will be battling for a starting position day 1 of camp

Take a S then worry about DT and RB, it is the 6th round and their are good one's left.

The Giants and Redskins improved thru the draft. Cowboys? Meh.

Scouting Report: Michael Jackson

2019 NFL Mock Draft

DraftGeek’s Mock Draft

School: Miami Position: Cornerback Class:Senior Height: 6-1 Weight: 200 Projected Draft Round: 3-5

Scouting Report:

Nice frame, strong, and physical, excels in press coverage and play closer to the line of scrimmage. Able to lock up receivers off of the snap, is at his best when playing in tight press coverage rather than in space or in zone. Brings a plus game against the run and in blitzes, and at the same time can be exposed when asked to cover quicker receivers in space.

Video Highlights:

Never seen a second of him but he seems like the type of DB Richard likes

Giants and Skins also have a bigger hill to climb in the talent department...and Giants that all depends on the QB pick

Wtf is the NFL Network doing?

5 first round picks will do that

Yep. They don’t want to fight guys over Rookie FAs. And their track record suggests they do really well with these supper late picks and RFA’s.

Guys at DT or RB might not choose to sign here because of the depth chart and now they won’t have a choice.

Especially when you’re picking top 10 or trading your best player to get another first rounder.

What RB depth? Rod Smith was one of the worst backup running backs I’ve ever seen.

DE J. Jackson Miami

Scouting Report: Joe Jackson

2019 NFL Mock Draft

DraftGeek’s Mock Draft

School: Miami Position: Defensive End Class: Junior Height: 6-5 Weight: 258 Projected Draft Round: 2-4

Scouting Report:

A truly gifted athlete, Jackson has depended on his natural athletic ability so far during his college career. He has excellent length and superb balance that allows him to gain leverage on the edge. As a run defender, he anchors surprisingly well, and has a lot of upside if he can learn to use his feet better. A high upside edge rusher that an NFL team will need a year to develop.

That's the way Day 3 of draft coverage go. ESPN is typically even worse.

The Jacksons at 5 seem like solid picks. Easy as A-B-C.

Dallas will probably sign a backup RB. They stil don't have one. You don't have a rookie that can't block and was third on his team in rushing on college as your main backup.

This is nothing more than the 2009 draft. No immediate help at all. Nothing but below average depth players. Did not improve the roster at all. Deep safety draft and we didn't pick anyone. Useless trade downs today that accomplished nothing.

And Rod Smith also played a ton of special teams. He didn't get a payday before the draft and probably still reasonably priced, so don't be surprised to see him return.

They got deeper on O-line, inside DL and Jackson looks like a decent rotational pass rusher, which they needed. It wasn't that bad for having already used their top pick on Cooper. If Cooper reverts to his last couple of seasons in Oakland, then it could be that bad.

Agreed.  He was 2nd on the team in catches and played in the slot at time.  This is more of a Lance Dunbar situation except with elite ST skills.  Austin is on notice.

The Pats drafted another rb to go with Michel and White. Can you throw a 7th their way and get Burkhead?
