That was only a 4-1/2 point spread. It was actually against Baylor that same year. We were 13-1/2 point dogs and lost 28-7.

LSU is a mortal enemy for UT at this point. We are competing with these cheating, stupid motherfuckers for every recruit we want - yard, by hard fucking yard. ATM opened the door for the SEC to come i

Surprised by that. That was year TCU should have made playoff and were rolling. UT was 6-5 and doing Charlie Strong things.

What is Mike Williams status at LSU?

[Not sure if he is considered a transfer that has to sit out.  Think he's currently not on scholarship but paying his own way (wink/wink) this semester?]

He ended up at LSU? How the hell did I miss that?

Nope. That’s perfect. Keep that narrative going.

Agree, Some of the best moments  have been when UT is a heavy  dog.  Neb 96 and almost every other Neb game.. USC 05, OU 08, UGA 18

It wasn't annouced or anything. He's just a regular walk-on (HAH).

Projected betting odds are so fucking worthless.

Show me when Vegas releases their Games of the Year lines in a little while and we'll see what the market actually thinks.

Weird. Well good luck to him, I guess...

Some comments have been made wondering if Mike Williams can afford paying at LSU as a walk-on.  There's been posts speculating that there could be some other stuff going on (wink/wink).  Just wondering if maybe LSU finds MW a scholly or somehow uses a blueshirt/grayshirt option for him??

it won't be LSU minus 8, I can tell you that much

This. The same model predicts the Clemson -20 vs aggy. Now, Clemson might well beat aggy by twice that in Death Valley, but the line isn't opening anywhere near 20. 14 tops, probably 7-10 range. Same goes here. We may lose to LSU by 7-10 points, They bring back a lot more than we do. But Vegas isn't throwing Texas +8 out there to get things started. I'd think it opens somewhere between Texas -2 and +3.

Yep it's horseshit. It is also perfect and a good narrative to keep going.

Those, along with OU 13, OU 15, and OU 18 were very enjoyable.

Why does Bill Connely’s SBNation metric get so much love and attention?

I think the final is going to be something like 35-17.  LSU's offense will struggle; their defense is going to get tired.

Definitely needs to be cross posted to the Yancy McKnight thread.  Incidentally, how awesome would an edit of that face by Angilau on Jason Momoa's Aquaman be?

Now just imagine if we were using designer steroids like Clemson, UGA and Bama

The problem with UGA's steroids is it makes them unmotivated to win football games. Let's see what steroids Bama and Clemson are using.

Allegedly, and with no more proof than serum testing of multiple players. And confirmation sample testing.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say Clemson’s are just a tad bit more effective.

We still need to prove under Tom Herman that we can be a good team in the first couple of weeks of the season. Perhaps that’s why we are eight point underdogs?

No lines have even been set yet. That was simply a projection based on... projections.

Ah. Well ESPNs power index projects we’ll have a down year so I wouldn’t be surprised if we were at least a 1 TD underdog

You're assuming Vegas is as dumb as ESPN. Which is a hell of an assumption.

Next year's LSU will not be as good as last year's UGA.

And Texas is improving steadily.

And the game is in Austin.

Conclusion: we're sending them back to the swamp with an ugly L.

And ESPN can talk about how they didn't really want to be there.  They were looking ahead to Alabama.  Whatever gets you through the night, assclowns.  Texas is back.  You're gonna respect us again whether you like it or not.

just bought my tickets.  fuck the prices are extremely high on stubhub, vivid seats etc.  got two lower north endzone tickets for like $900 after taxes and fees.  hotel prices are insane too.  don't give a fuck.  wife and i are not missing this game.  this is going to blow the usc game out the water.  most likely 2 top 10 teams and gameday will likely pick austin. can't wait!
