May 18May 18 I'm on the lonsurf train now. Pretty mild but weirdly has given me a rash in the thumb web of each hand.
May 18May 18 Second cycle begins tomorrow. I know now to bring nothing but draws, socks, and entertainment. Hope I'm back in the new wing. So much nicer with big TV, adjustable lights, and AC thermostat under my control. A lot more room to walk around which is important since I'm confined to my room for the duration. Anyone else ever get admitted for chemo or just the out patient version? Edited May 18May 18 by MissingInAction

Because my doctor tried not to play God, she agreed to let me have the pills. So once every three weeks (for three months) I had to go get an infusion of Ox in a room with the chemo Normie’s. Six cycles in my port.
May 19May 19 After a month+ on Welireg, it doesn't cause diarrhea (yet,) but it causes joint aches in shoulders, hips, ankles, etc. Or maybe that's being old. Went from being fried death a couple weeks ago to doing a long show yesterday with good energy. Greed heals a body. Are you taking it with Cabo?
May 19May 19 Got the VIP suite this time. The usual room with adjoining family room. Almost as big as my apartment. Incredible view of campus and downtown.

June 3Jun 3 Popular Post Second trip to MDA was a success. Drs are happy with my progress. Radiologist says ulnar nerve is looking good and wont have to be removed. All signs point to salvaging my arm. 4 cycles to go then radiation fun. Surgery most likely in october. Edited June 3Jun 3 by MissingInAction
June 5Jun 5 On my second month back on chemo after a break since September. Got my first '5 minutes into eating lunch' puke session of this go around. It's like being welcomed back by a warm blanket.
June 7Jun 7 Ill start radiation a month after my last cycle. He said it will be 3 weeks instead of the standard 5 because im taking the chemo so well.
June 7Jun 7 Popular Post Been off here awhile. All tests indicated my tumor was confined to my prostate. Had RALP surgery on 5May. Path report came back concluding no sign of anything outside the prostate capsule. Been continent on the urinary side since about 2 weeks after surgery. Just a little leakage on occasion. I only use the little pads for men just in case. Last week or so, I’ve only had to get up once or twice to pee at night. Still waiting for my little soldier to salute again. Doc has me on the Cialis regimen for that. Nerves just being really slow. But it moved a little yesterday. So there was that. On a physical therapy regimen to strengthen my pelvic floor muscles. They are working me over. At least the two PTs I have assigned to me are cute. Thoughts and prayers to all still fighting the fight, awaiting tests and test results, surgery and additional treatments. Fuck cancer! Hook ‘em!
June 7Jun 7 Chemo cock is not conducive to fucking other than than the shiny scrotum. Quite breathtaking actually. I have a three day window between cycles to get my freak on. Edited June 7Jun 7 by MissingInAction
June 7Jun 7 We’ll, I hope you’re at least sending flowers to that shiny scrotum person your fucking. When are the big brain surgeons gonna cut out the dying remains of your elbow cancer and throw it in the trash?

If cancer had social media - your elbow cancer’s relatives would be trying to start a GoFundMe due to the impending death of their beloved. Have you reminded your oncologist to tell your lady friend how much curative power blowjobs have on your particular cancer…..per…..studies?
June 8Jun 8 I meant october. Its tough to keep track. Any recommendations for extended stay options near mda? Id need to bring my dog. The nurses always make a point to tell the women who visit they cant touch me due to the radiation. Edited June 8Jun 8 by MissingInAction

Might be an option.

During our year at MDA we stayed at an apartment sponsored by Palmer Memorial Episcopal. Pretty nice setup less than 10 minutes from MDA Dunno what their pet policy would be, though...

Keep your attitude up, chemo unfortunately is has a cumulative effect. With some luck your treatment can be confined to 2025, then you can throw away this year from memory.

Still eating 3 meals a day. 3rd round wrapping up. Bags are empty and the needles are out. Waiting on dr to discharge me.

June 14Jun 14 Isn't that what you are supposed to tell someone that looks like death warmed over? Like in the war movies? "You're gonna be OK Johnny. When you get home, the girls are gonna like up to blow you" while your intestines are halfway across the block. I keed. I keed. Keep kicking it's ass!

June 16Jun 16 After searching the average extended stay near the med center is around $100 a night. I can afford it but would put me in the red with more med bills to come Would it be an asshole move to ask for donations via gofundme?

Medical bills + housing add up, doesn't matter which bucket they end up in.
June 16Jun 16 Thanks yall! Have to have the pup with me so it drives the price up a little bit. Contour suites has good options close the the med center.

June 16Jun 16 Serious note: everyone should check out a cancer policy if their employer offers one, or get one if they don’t. My HR recommended I got it - and wouldn’t you know three months after paying my $15 a month I got cancer. Once I sent them proof of my tumor, they sent me a cash payment of $11,000 - and paid 20% cash of the cost of each of my on-going MRIs and CTs. Not a bad bang for your buck. It was one stressor I did not have to have as I made my co-pays and airfare and hotel visits to MDA. It is so damn cheap that if you ever join the club, that valuable assist makes dealing with it a hell of a lot easier financially.

I believe most folks on this board are more interested in finding out if their employer offers a "strained your elbow from jerking off too much to Albanian midget porn" coverage. At least, that's what the fellas on the football board told me.

Too much flexibility in the potential denial of coverage when they get to decide what is ‘too much’ jerking off.

Well, that's offensive. I much prefer Serbian midget porn myself. F'n insurance companies probably draw the line there, some sort of "pre-existing condition" or some such.
June 16Jun 16 When I moved to Houston I had three months for temporary housing. I couldn’t find an apartment so I lived in I think a Holiday Inn. There were multiple retirees there living there in retirement. Not a bad deal. They ate dinner every night from the free happy hour buffet, with free beer and wine. Amd free breakfast. And they had a maid every day cleaning their room. Not sure how they handled laundry. They would come to happy hour sometimes in bath robes. I think they were paying less than $100 per night.
