This season is already more enjoyable than the entire last several seasons.

Since our 3rd place finish in the WCWS, for sure.

We may finally have the guy to get us back to OKC and do better than 3rd.

Best ONLY thing on the roster that Clark left for the new coach.  She's so good.

I'd say Ellsworth, Hathaway, Washington and Bollinger are good pieces too.  But Jefferson was by far the best asset she left for Mike.

no doubt that they are nice pieces to have, but Jefferson is the only player Connie left that can play for any team in the country.

Bollinger was recruited heavily by OU, Michigan, Cal, LSU and FSU.  Also a pretty good piece left behind.

Let's go ahead and score one more here and end it early.

Lesbihonest, talent was a very small part of the problem with CC teams.

This season got enjoyable as soon as Connie was gone.

Elish makes me tingle

Uhhh... yeah.

It's nice to have a real team that can hit and be aggressive on the bases.

Our early season tournament was about on par with what we will face against ISU and KU in the Big 12 - we did fine

Cal is about on par with Tech - we did fine

LSU will be just a step below OU - TBD

Kentucky will be on par with OSU and Baylor - TBD

5 games so far:

42-3 scoring margin

4 run-rules

3 shutouts

2 ER given up on the year (0.52 ERA)

More:

.387 average (45-116)

11 doubles, 2 triples, 2 homers

11-11 SB

20 BB, 18 K (only 1 of those strikeouts has come from a Burnt Orange Duck)

Through 5 games last year:

Record: 3-2

Scored 15, Given up 14

ERA: 3.13

AVG: .227

11 BB / 15 K

BOOOOO we sucked lol

One thing I noticed is we have much better plate discipline and are drawing more walks (almost double the walks last year, as the stats above show).  That's mostly coaching.

They struggled yesterday against OSU. They feasted on bad competition to get those run-rules. Way curious how that offense looks against Texas today and FSU tomorrow. Probably a lot like yesterday.

Texas-LSU

FSU-OU

Some marquee Friday games. Good job with this tournament lineup, ESPN

OU took care of FAU 4-0 just now.

Our turn.

O'Leary gets the start (as I guessed right).

Hathaway CF
Jefferson 2B
Washington 1B
Rhodes 3B
Iakopo C
Elish DP
Tedder RF
Slack SS
Hayter LF

Them Burnt Orange Ducks good.

Rhodes 2 run HR
Iakopo walks
Elish RBI double

Ducks going duck things for Texas

3-0 Texas after 1

Texas Softball says no TV.  We are on TV later for LSU.

Really curious to see how we play vs. the better teams. Watching this duck/lsu game and their top to bottom talent seems well above ours. Tonight should be fun.

7 groundouts for O'Leary.  Good thing we had a top infield defense in 2018 and most of it returned.

Thing is all of it returns next year too. Alcozer and Bolinger are really the only contributing SRs we lose.

And now a 2-run yack by FSU, all with 2 outs.

OU’s scheduled SP was a late scratch.

Another Duck HR - Elish with a 2-run shot.

5-0 Texas

so if we could just get all 9 of our players from Oregon, we'd be set.

Now have 4 homers as a team in 6 games (Iakopo, Rhodes 2, Elish)

We had 25 in 59 games last year.

Oregon now up 4-1 over LSU

This LSU offense struggles against even average-ish pitching.

Elish or Bollinger give us a real shot at a win today.

Shae's no hitter broken up in the top of the 5th with 2 outs

We had bases loaded no outs in the 5th and could have ended it - nope, DP and a flyout.

FAU scores 1 in the top of the 6th

5-1 Texas b6

Texas wins 5-1

O'Leary: 7 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, 11 FO, 3 GO
