February 8, 20196 yr Good luck to Shane. His attitude and effort level, despite losing the starter position, speaks volumes about his character.
February 8, 20196 yr Kid embodys everything that is Texas from saying fuck OU to his family to being a leader in and off the field. All the greatness to you boosh

February 8, 20196 yr Smu fan here... could not be more thrilled to get Shane especially after reading the comments from the longhorn faithful! I’m pumped and can’t wait for him to graduate and get on campus! Hookem and pony up!

He's a quality teammate and all-around dude and a more-than-solid QB when his OL isn't letting defenders fly in and turn his shoulder into mush. He's kind of fragile that way, so don't break him.

At least in DFW there's plenty of professional athletes, and I'm sure Shane's Dad knows a lot of Sports Agents...... UT's sport management department is one of the better in the country. Also, a grad degree in sport management is generally considered redundant if you already studied it in undergrad. You usually see folks from other undergrad fields or folks who are doing a GAship in athletics, campus rec, whatever it is because that is a box you have to check in those fields. Not that this move is academically motivated, but the answer to your question, in short, is a no. FWIW, the NCAA rule at least used to be that to be eligible immediately as a GT you had to transfer to a school that offered a grad degree your undergrad institution didn't. I don't know if that's still the case with the way things have changed.

February 8, 20196 yr He's the UT record holder for single-season passing yards by a freshman. Threw for almost 3,000 yards the same season that Foreman ran for over 2,000. 5-7 team that year, goddamnit Charlie & company.

And I think that if you are Shane Buechele, you will have absolutely no problem getting into that school.

"Better" is a comparative, not a superlative, and is best used when there is exactly one other against which comparison is made. In any event, hook'em, Shane! Thanks for all you have given to Texas Football.
February 8, 20196 yr Forgot that Charlie surprised Shane with #7 Also loved how Shane still honors his Best Friend Connor Gage who passed away in High School. https://sportsday.dallasnews.com/college-sports/collegesports/2018/01/11/lost-forgotten-texas-qb-shane-buechele-never-stopped-honoring-best-friend

February 8, 20196 yr Thanks Shane and good luck.Have fun and nail a bunch of rich sloots and they moms.Don't kill no hookers even though it is an SMU tradition.
February 8, 20196 yr This is the news I was hoping to hear. Probably the best spot for Shane, all things considered - best of luck to him. Looking forward to watching him dismantle the Fightin' Charlies this fall.
February 8, 20196 yr Very nice message, but I'm not sure how well Vahe was protecting him on the field.
February 8, 20196 yr This chicks better line up and take care of their new QB. He has a girl here so BJ's and pooper only, don't force the man to actually cheat. Edited February 8, 20196 yr by Goodman
February 8, 20196 yr So he'll likely get a super bowl ring in the 2020 or 2021 season as a practice squad qb for the partriots

Also I already made the comment but it's a huge bonus for his network down the line. Having UT and SMU alumni in your back pocket you can do basically whatever you want in Texas.
