September 8, 20196 yr Good easy win against a good UNT team. ArkSt beat UNLV badly today, too. The mighty Bobcats come to town next week, and then @TCU the next week will be the first real test.
September 9, 20196 yr We're running the table on these American conference pussies. (jk but this is the best we've looked since my first season as a fan when we went 1-11) We might give frog a ballgame.

September 12, 20196 yr Good for him. Maybe a SB ring as a Patriots practice squad member is in his future.
September 13, 20196 yr Good for him. Maybe a SB ring as a Patriots practice squad member is in his future.Which would make him the most successful Longhorn QB since Garrett Gilbert.

September 18, 20196 yr Since I guess this is the "Tell me about SMU" thread, https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/smu-mustangs/2019/09/17/did-tcu-s-gary-patterson-throw-smu-a-top-25-vote-ahead-of-its-annual-rivalry-game/ Did TCU's Gary Patterson throw SMU a Top 25 vote ahead of its annual rivalry game? Only one coach that SMU played so far has a vote, but Gary Patterson does, too. #beatfrog
September 18, 20196 yr Fuck I hate Patterson in a really pure way. He plays the Head Coach game like a boss. His run at TCU is phenomenal. Fuck him.
September 18, 20196 yr It's amazing how old Shane is and still never seemed to put on an ounce of muscle. I understand he's not built like Sam and was never really a big kid, but damn he still looks flimsy. I always hoped he'd put on some weight like Colt did when he was here, I see it never came. But anyway, glad he's doing well, hope he plays at least decent against the best defense he'll probably face this year.

September 18, 20196 yr Popular Post I wish nothing but the best for Buchele. Dude got us out of QB darkness to see a light at the end of the tunnel and now we're set with a healthy QB room for years to come where players should get developed and not get thrown out as true freshmen. It sucks that Herman's system was a terrible fit for Shane's skillset. He's going to put up good numbers in Dyke's system and I have no doubt Herman will find a spot for him as a GA and a path for him to get into coaching if he ever wants to go that route. It takes great character to do what's best for the team and still be engaged when you know you're losing your starting spot. Hook 'em Shane.
September 22, 20196 yr Popular Post Bump.Love seeing things turn out for the best for all involved.Sam is clearly the right guy for Herman's offense and Shane was never going to get meaningful starter snaps other than injury backup. It was right for him to leave and right for him to handle it like he did. I can't imagine a single Texas fan not rooting for the guy given how he carried himself here.Great seeing him lead smu over tcu, given the pride on the line between those two programs. He threw for nearly 300 yards against a Patterson defense and he's definitely in the right offense for his skill set now. They're 4-0 with usf up next. Seems like they'll have a solid season no matter what and love seeing Shane finally thriving as a starter.

September 22, 20196 yr Popular Post Shane beat Notre Dame as a true freshman, helped preserve our season that resulted in a Sugar Bowl win, got a diploma from UT, gets to start two years for Sonny Dykes and get a Master's Degree from SMU. He beat the sweaty fuck in Fort Worth. He leads a charmed life, indeed.
September 22, 20196 yr this is going to be fun to watch SMU at South Florida 3:00 pm ESPNU / ESPN Video And SMU is -8 on the road.
September 23, 20196 yr Dude could have had a shitty attitude when Sam was named the starter; he could have announced an immediate transfer and saved a year of eligibility. Instead he manned up, played the season, got his degree from UT, and then made the choice for playing time. Dude is a lifetime Longhorn, even if his playing career didn’t end here....

September 23, 20196 yr Connelly rates Boo the fourth-best QB transfer for the 2019 season to date. Quote 4. Shane Buechele (SMU) Offensive SP+ rating: 35.0 (27th)Total QBR: 73.5 (27th)Passing stats: 88-for-132 (67%), 1,159 yards, 7 TD, 4 INT (8.0 ANY/A, 73.5 Total QBR)Rushing stats: 15 carries, 89 yards (5.9), 1 TD After a mediocre first season under Sonny Dykes, SMU came into 2019 with minimal expectations. My SP+ ratings had them 91st overall and 91st on offense, with just a 51% chance of reaching bowl eligibility. Now? Following the Mustangs' upset of TCU on Saturday, they have a 100% chance of bowl eligibility, and they're up to 43rd in SP+ and 27th on offense. Buechele has been the primary reason for the surge. He threw for 288 yards against what was looking like one of Gary Patterson's best Horned Frog defenses. It might not be hard to see why Texas' Tom Herman eventually chose Sam Ehlinger over Buechele, but the junior has plenty to offer. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/27678271/ranking-every-2019-transfer-qb-led-jalen-hurts-justin-fields

He deserves credit the same way Swoopes does. They both must have been heartbroken, but they were men about it and chipped in for us when called on.

September 24, 20196 yr So happy for this guy and the success he's having. By all accounts he was a great teammate even when it was clear he wasn't gonna be the guy in this offense. Best of luck to him and continued success this season.
September 24, 20196 yr Boo leading SMU to an upset over the pissant toads is almost as fun as watching aggy get beat for me. #PonyUpDallas
