Luna has been showing me some great things training wise over the past few months, so I took her to a dog park for the first time in years.

Of course we get met by a hoard at the entrance, but she does great lowering your giant skull and pushing through them. Before she would have been snarling and snapping to clear a path.

We find a spot to chill and she just sits perfectly by my side observing... judging.

A couple dogs come by to play but she just stares them off while putting herself between me and them. Then she returns to my side.

This went on for about half an hour then she sat on my foot and stared up at me. She was ready to go. Not her scene at all.

Pepper lost her battle today. The worst part is we were in the airport at Heathrow when she died. I'm just gutted beyond belief. 36 hours ago when my dad came over to watch her while we are away, she was acting like her normal sassy self. This morning her body gave out and she passed away. I know all dogs are good, but we lost a really good one today.

I'll see you at the Rainbow Bridge, sweet girl. Hang out with Chewy while you wait for me.

Thankful for more time with Pippa ... at her 6-month post-diagnosis cancer check-up, the oncologist said he's extremely pleased with where she is, her tumor is "stable" (if not slightly smaller), and while it's not "gone away", he considers this in remission with continued treatment.  The chemo pills are expensive, but I don't blink an eye paying this for her.  She's been the best girl ever and anything I can do to keep her happy, healthy, and with us for a while longer is worth it.  She still has bursts of "puppy Pippa", so given her age (13) she's doing wonderfully.

Today Rupp played with all the kids who love dogs, willingly kenneled for the olds who are skittish, went fishing with anyone who would take him, and made Thanksgiving everything it should be for a dog.  He's pooped now.

Went to a friend's for Thanksgiving last night. Some girl had a really cute dog there, and her dog immediately decided he needed to be in my lap at all times.

"He doesn't even like my boyfriend that much."

"Maybe you need a new boyfriend?"

"Maybe I do."

She was cute, and a chef, so I'd probably end up getting stabbed with her chef's knife..

This beast of a boy decided today was the day after over 13 years. Such a smart, chill and introverted dog that is going to be missed by our neighborhood and family. Hope to see you again Roux.

This is Beaver, a rat terrier we took in when our DiLs father got the pancreatic cancer and passed away. We also took his companion Wally, who we lost last December. He took to being an only dog very well getting all the attention and food. He’s 17. His kidneys are near stage 4. Is almost totally deaf. Has a gall bladder the size of Waco but can’t have surgery due to kidney numbers. We’ve moved him from two other vets that wanted to put him down but he’s not suffering and is very happy. He’s a great little dog but at his age he’s terminal whether he lasts a week or a year.

If you have a spare second please say a prayer for him. I just want to get him thru the holidays and into spring if possible; my wife doesn’t need to deal with another dog passing at Christmas. She takes it even harder than I do. e9de5e033021db50258e2651e01177ba.jpg

Very good friends had to put down their dog this week. really tough on them and their young kiddos.

We knew him from the time he was a cute ass little puppy, and he grew into his name over time. 100 lbs of love and cuddles. RIP Bear. You will be greatly missed.

Yeah. I wish she'd leave them alone, but she has some serious prey drive. He survived to see another day, though.

Had one on our porch last night. For some reason my daughter thinks they are super cute. Really interesting creatures and I always relocate when possible.

Luna does as well. She shook a racoon to death at my friend's place. During the death shake she lost grip and the corpse went over the fence into the neighbors yard.
