Anybody travel with their dogs from Texas to NYC? I’d love to take the girls for a walk in Central Park.

I need:

- Airline suggestions

- Near the park hotel friendly suggestions.

 - NYC pet lodging options.

I love dogs, but putting your dog thru a flight to New York and back so you can walk them in Central Park doesn’t seem worth it.  What do you do with the dogs when you do anything else in NY?  Leave them in the room or just order room service and stay in the whole trip?  Because no where else is taking dogs.

It’s been a while.  We got chocolate back from the precipice.  He’s living his life but I have to admit the stress of caring for him is getting to me.  He can’t have another seizure at this point.  But he’s my best friend and I’ll never give up on him.

Fuck, I have a feeling this is going to be a shitty Christmas.  I think chocolate just started presenting for a splenic tumor.  Will confirm tomorrow with the vet but if it’s the case he can’t get anesthesia and surgery.  Fuck my life right now.

Somehow I've started getting daschund videos on FB.  I've never owned one, but I have to admit, they are funny little dogs.  Lots of side eye and bad behavior.  Not totally unlike our little dog (chihuahua).

Brie spent all Xmas and Xmas Eve playing with dogs at the farm and the in-laws. There’s a special level of wet dog smell and she’s reached it for sure. A luxuriating bath and spa session is in the cards.

I’m wrecked.  Chocolate crossed the rainbow bridge this morning, he had anemia from blood loss and a tumor that was bleeding internally.  Dogs are one of the best things out there but losing a good one hurts terribly.

Bailey is tuckered out after being spoiled as the only dog in the house all week.  Got to play in some snow on Christmas, pretend she wanted to chase a big-ass mule deer, and sniff coyote foot prints all over the place.  Thomas still kicks her off the guest bed sometimes, though.

Is the muzzle a NYC ordinance thing?

That’s not a muzzle. It’s called a Gentle Leader harness. I use it as Harvey pulls with traditional harnesses or leashes. He does not on this at all. He has full use of his mouth in this. And no, there is no NYC ordinance other leashing your dog.

SOOOO much better than a choke chain.  Seeing those on dogs pisses me off.

She loves when I'm off of work.

Sebastian and I went over to my mom’s house to make dinner for her tonight, like we do almost every night.  She loves seeing Sebastian because she misses having a dog, but knows she’s not able to take care of one now. Anyway, when we got there she was asleep.  I started making going through the kitchen making a grocery list and then I realized that Sebastian had disappeared.  That’s when my mom screamed.  Sebastian had gone into her bedroom and jumped into bed with her.  I think he did it because he wanted to make sure she was awake for dinner since she always feeds him scraps no matter how many times I tell her not to.

I just finished reading this book, about an English Pointer named Judy.  It chronicles her fascinating life, which began on the streets of Shanghai just before WWII and continues as she becomes the mascot on board an English gunboat on the Yangtze River, her three years as a POW (the only canine officially recognized as a POW) in a brutal Japanese camp in Sumatra, and her eventual liberation along with the English airman that she bonded with in the POW camp. Judy survived the sinking of two ships, once by Japanese bombs and once by torpedo from an English submarine.  She was also wounded in action. If you can finish this without it getting dusty, then you aren't really a dog lover.
